I agree with the guy which said that Tribal Vision have some of the best looking and original covers in the scene. The Tegma album for instance. That one is pure art. Awesome!

Thanks for the explanation, Slater..
I didn't really know what to do with this thread at first (merging into the "bad covers" thread ?)

I personally don't like it at all, and think that such a picture would have more impact if placed inside a booklet (4 pages is ennuf).. Or if distracted with humour in example.. But yalla, maybe Robin will understand the points of views here (and elsewhere)..

To the users, don't make this thread another "Bad Covers" okie ? (..like posting links to the Wizzy one, or others) or this one will be locked.

Thanks for the understanding.

I was not thinking about you but Aluxe and his links. Sorry if I failed to make it clear.           http://www.peopleagainstpeace.net/

Besides, its not as terrible as this one:

You're kidding right? I think that's a great cover. I'd take that one over Fitalic any day.           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."

haha, yeah sorry to see the resemblence between mainstream pop music covers and the fatalic cover. What does it bother you I point this out? Well its >>precisely<< what I personally don't like about the fatalic cover.

PS you know when you said "juvenile and boring" I thought you were talking about the fatalic cover.. hehehe, I was like yeah man totally, I know what you mean. LOL

But the music is good right? that's what matters.

sorry mods..

and Aluxe, I agree with what you're saying with that as well..yes the music is good, but it seems like a move skazi would make or something..actually he beat Fatalic to it anyway, but you know..(other people, please don't start a skazi conversation..its just my opinion)

People bitch and bitch about the music, bitch about that the artists dont do the music the way the bitchers want them to do the music, bitch about that there are not enough booklets and lollipop's in the CD's, bitch about CD covers and the bitching goes on and on and on on on.

What's next? Bitching because he got dirty sneakers on instead of clean new Nike sneakers?

Let the music speak for itself. And by the way if enough people would buy more music instead of stealing it (oh sorry that's TABU to say "stealing" - I better write downloading music to preview it) then maybe the labels could afford better more professional designs. CD artwork is not cheap in price or free!

Talk about bitching...

Slater, I think it is a label's job to help the artist present his musical vision in the best possible way. Sometime that means also saying no to a cover the artist wants. Post production is a very important part of a work on an album (or compilation)- it is the label's job- that's why the arist releases with a label (or at least should be).

Using photography in an album cover means you now not only need a good designer, you also need a good photographer. Then, you need a designer that knows how to work with photographs.

Free advice :-D

cover shmover, if it rocks it rocks, and from what I hear (mine is in the mail) this album rocks.

Id probably buy it if he was on the cover photoshopped giving George Bush the high hard one... then Id destroy the cover so Id never see it agian...           .

I love what Slater say:

"I do hope we are already aiming a broader market than the psy/prog scene, but because of our music, not types of covers".

I think the most important of a label is delivery good music with hi's own way and vision, TVR is one of the best labels with fat CD Art Work and for be honestly I didn't like it too much either but hey, judges the CD for the music and not for the cover. I saw like 2000 times a bad cover in a CD but when the music is great I'm totally pleased with (This is the case) and that was Robin wanted to project in his album so I respect that as I respect the point of view of all the people on this.           Michael Jackson "Some people prefer to take life as it is without complications, some others we like to take life from the cornice of the wildest jungle"
