Favourite SA artist albums

Unless i'm mistaken, we've had four SA artist releases so far, from Artifakt, Protoculture, Shift and Rinkadink.
the question is, which is your favourite?
i'd have to say that i was pretty disappointed with both the shift and protoculture releases, but both the Artifakt and Rinkadink albums blew me away. For its humour, bass lines and the way it keeps me smiling, i'd be tempted to go for Rinkadink, but I think the Artifakt album comes out tops for sheer bloody genius and inventiveness...

also... which SA artist's album are you most looking forward to?
for me, it's a toss up between Phyx and Broken Toy, though I imagine a Bent Sentient album would be fairly brilliant as well.

PROTOCULTURE!!!!

Also got to listen to the new Rinkadink album, really good! Enjoyed the first track the most.           :: Life can be as bitter as dragon tears
But whether dragon tears are bitter or sweet
depends entirely on how each man perceives the taste ::

Although there are several tracks I enjoy on Artifakt & Shift's album, I would definately go for the Rinkadink album

Phyx is one of my favourite all time producers, so I'm looking forward to his release...then also releases by Damage & Broken Toy.

Well, I can't wait for the "Snack On" album by Rinkadink & Broken Toy...Should be good

interesting stuff... but it would be more interesting to know whether everyone who's responded so far has heard all four albums...

maybe it's just me, but i thought the artifakt album transcended all generic expectations - it was so much more than a collection of 8 or 9 stompers or killers, but a real journey of changing tempos and emotions and musical styles.
so, have you all heard this album? if not, go get it and listen to it and tell me if you still think protoculture and shift come out tops...

of course i recognise that this is all a matter of personal taste and it may just be that mine is so deficient that i'm getting this all completely wrong.

Beautiful observation there about personal taste AgentO. It has to be a matter of taste, that is why a question such as which is the best ('favorite' I admit is another concept) album is so very futile and meaningless. However, when the choice of the masses (those that buy these albums) is brought into consideration, it becomes an interesting comparison (but still not saying one is better than the other) Look at the sales charts on chaos.co.uk - esp the charts for the past year and also for all sales and you will find only one South African representative there ie Protoculture - It is also interesting doing a search on Protoculture on psyshop website to see just how widely Nate's goodies have been released
