Did you paint yours Faxi? Just that I find the look of those cases to be very uninspiring, very German lol.

I've got the 6u version being delivered soon, was gonna do a variation of a full Doepfer kit but am questioning whether to spend more time & money and go for something like this           Cuntus Maximus.

nop didn't paint it. i see where you're coming from but i actualy find that cold sorta german/soviet type of vibe very cool myself but yeah the wood looks like it could hold a paintjob very well.

i could imagine how it would look so wow with something by her on it:

as far as modules, i don't have enough yet to be able to say what companies to go for in modules, but i do get the feeling half the eurorack companies are just on the cash bandwagon and way overpriced and not worth the spending. i'm thinking what most people end up doing and am doing too, is basing around doepfer with a few spices here and there from other places.

Oz mike, I woild recommend doing it ovrr an extended period of time and buy as you go, I got a mate who built a 18u in a year and hes kinda lost as with regards to patching it

I think igs better to buy what you need step by step rather than get a whole load at once, you get a better sense of what you like and wont spend time and money replacing bits that dont fit

Just my two cents bruv, as always everyons different           Â°Â°Â°ACTS 4:12°°°°

I realise you can probably search for this but would any of you guys with experience have recommendations a reliable source or forum thread that covers what you need to build a custom rack?

Say you start with a 3U and want to say build up to 12U in the future. Width ~ 84HP.

Critical questions being, what kind of power supply is safe, what kind of busboards are recomended (+12/-12V and 5VDC), easy to use and affordable rails, etc.

Given the costs of just the PSU and busboards out there it seems like one effective solution is to get a bunch of Tip Top Happy Ending kits and stick them into a custom wooden case....

I'm mostly concerned about shipping/customs costs, so the more DIY the better.

Okay found something useful... but still be good to get some first hand info or other manufacturers... TipTop/UZeus seems to be on top of search results each time when looking for power solutions.

Thanks woodster Have yet to post on the muffwiggler forum scene although I've been stalking that place for a while. Fear it will become another forum obsession... it seems inevitable.

Thanks all. I'm buying the Doepfer Low Cost 9u shortly. The first modules in saving for after that are The a Harvestman Hertz Donut MK 2, Piston Honda MK 2 & Double Andore. Then I'm keen in adding the Intellijel Atlantis & Metropolis as well as E350 for nice pads etc. I'll also probably add expert sleepers for midi & a mixer or two. Might need to consider 12u instead.           Cuntus Maximus.
