I'd suggest asking on www.muffwiggler.com           Cuntus Maximus.

This looks like a good one to start with, costs and functions similarly to the ms-20 without the sample-hold and external input functions... but what it lacks it makes up for in sound. If you want to expand from there the modules looks like they can be pulled out and put into a bigger eurorack case.

or you could just get the synth block

Actually for ease of use to learn my bro who's been using various modular systems over the last 2 decades said a Dopefer system is cheap, sounds great & is super easy to learn on.

I'm planning on getting something similar to their Basic a System 2 & then maybe expand in the future.

doepfer dark energy 2 sounds good for me at moment, will be my 1st modular to test.
A-100 Basic System is expensive for me, the best deal is buy module by module

- the dark energy 2 is a shitty sounding synth, and isn't really providing anything truley modular by itself unless you have other modules too.

- i also wouldn't get the basic system or any other pre-made system, fill it by yourself that is half the fun.

- pittsburgh is a closed system, imo eurorack is for sure the way to go.

Last night I borrowed a mates Dark Energy II & it wasn't great. I've decided after updating my monitors I'm going to build a system 2 module by module.           Cuntus Maximus.

i say your first investment should be an empty eurorack case. get at least 6u, trust me you will want the space.

then get modules one by one, doesn't even have to be oscs and such at first cause then you have nothing much to do with them alone, so start with things like filters and effects and such that you can pass things through.
