Thank you Dreamfish!
I started to think I was the only normal person around- always worrying thought- next they come to take me away from the funny farm ;-)

this album is so boring. It's on the low side of average to me. There's nothing new and nothing innovative and worse there's almost nothing musical . Entheogenic are going more and more down with every album. The first was nice shpongle clone when it came out, though not reaching his ankles. The second has some good moments, mainly the remixes. This is really bad for me.

and to say it is "well produced" is a joke- the out of nowhere "ethnic" samples are just inserted in with no musical direction and development and sometimes you can hear the hiss coming in with them and going out when they stop- this is disrespect for the listeners.

As for Schnauss- first while I agree with acidhive that he's brilliant, I don't think entheogenic should be mentioned in the same sentence with him (I just did that, shit..) and Traveler- do yourself a favor and try to open your mind- maybe you got bits of Simon Posford posters stuck in your ears? You don't have to like schnauss, but to say it's crap is dumb.

If you like this album, be happy- this means that you have so much more better music to discover :-D

Best comment ever. I second that totally.
And to the disrespect to the listener, I can only say: voices of istanbul (package with chant samples) has been used here on various occassions           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."

Schnauss is crap, pure crap. Simon is gold, pure gold.           "Love is a way of life"

I second This!!!

Mentioning Entheogenic and Schnauss in a sentence is pure nonsense.

Entheogenic is so much better, and so much more of everything.

But to everybody his taste

This album is pure bliss!!!

A jewel in the chill arena.

10/10!

I love those ppl that think that music is to be evaluated by their own standarts...

@Bom*shankar- i don't think you are in the position to decide what kind of music is "more better" then the other + not everything must be compared to simon posford...
@Acidhive- Try to make your point instead of just taking a side and bashing ppl who don't think the same as you....

I love this album, i think the chants and samples have a lot to do with the kind of music on the album and imo they fit perfectly to the music, only on the more psy side of things, for some ppl it may sound "with no musical direction"....

Ehmmm... they started the bash this time. You see, when I say I think something isn't that good I always say it with the phrasing: I think that... or IMO it is.. But other people here don't, they bring their opinion like it's fact. Please read better before putting the scapegoat at me again. I might be a basher of some sorts, but I don't bash without good reason, remember that.           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. golden cup album it's not cup of my tea but i respect entheogenic..they have offered a lot to psy-chill scene..especially with their first album..
But,guys don't compare ulrich schnauss with entheogenic..they have different music directions,He is a great artist, firstly listen to all his works and then tell that he is a crap.if u don't the pure feeling of his tracks then u may have problem sorry..

cheers           Music may not take us to the Moon or let us live forever, but as we enter trough the doors it is opening before us, we find things far beyond our everyday experiences..

I must say i had very very high expectations from golden cap .....ive been eagerly waiting for new material from the french duo since therir smashing album "dialouge of the speakers" featuring various collaboations with the biggies of psychill ...theres not a single track which i found average

comming to golden cap

the albums really cool!!! ...top notch sound and really psychedelic music ....the controversial ethnic chants are also cool at a very few places but its just that some of them have been over used over the years and some just dont make any sense, <--> as in ur listening to some killer music and boom theres this crazy india dude or dudette singing :-S leaving u confused and disoriented

...although iam definitely gonna play this album in my sets for a while ...iam very sure quite a few tracks would be great for the chill rooms and the indian audience ....

i cant stop smiling while hearing track 3 "golden cap", right from the crazy indian classical music intro to those vocals that sound so cheesy!!!!! ...but brilliant music and a very danceable number

Track 6 "The Solution Machine" and track 8 "sSecret Tongues" are really massive hypnotic and crazy numbers ...i guess these 2 are my fav. from the album

track 2 Sideways is also cool, but again i dont like those vocals ....

i guess i was just expecting tooooo much from golden cap
....
ive only given the album 2-3 listens ...lets see of any other tracks grow on me ....

this album is pure psychedelic stuff without intention to be a pseudo steady state like ulrich Schnauss intends to be... ahahahahah

long live psychedelic

P.s. Ulrich Schnauss is a bit Gay, but that's my psychedelic opinion...

Sorry, this album came to a big dissapointement to me

I am a fan of the first album, but here, I find the samples not well integrated, I much prefere to listen to geniune ethnic music then...

I will certainly play a few of these tracks in my long mixes, some rythmic work being outstanding, and there are a few good tracks. But hey! I was expecting much more!           V/A Floating Mirror - OUT NOW - with Celles, Midimal, Electrypnose, Melodix, Troll Scientists, Yab Yum, Gaspard, Ajja, Cradle of Beats! Info on

Well I was too afraid that my ears or taste has gone bad but it's good to know I'm not the only one on this.
I like the 2 first albums (self titled & Spontaneous Illumination) and too VA as well.
Since then I was expecting something groundbreaking. I've never compared it with Shpongle.
This album is mediocre to say the least. The style is somewhat changed and I feel it's true that many of the samples are forced...
The other thing is the sound became more popy (wtf?!), 'Golden Cap' track is simply awful. Maybe without the singing it would have sounded so much better...
There are though moments of genius but they don't cover for the level of this album in my opinion.
I miss the old style Entheogenic & disappointed of this album.           To Infinity And Beyond!

It's amazing how taste can be soooo different between 2 people...
I think 'Golden Cap' is an amazing track, the thing about the singing being in and out of tune all over the track is what makes it so special IMO
After seeing so many different opinions about this album in this thread I appreciate much more the 'commercial artists' that make music that sounds good to so many people...

hehe nice point mate. Or maybe the whole world is becoming more and more decadent (the whole pop culture debate).
Not that I'm implying people here are...

btw it's not the tune that bothers but the song itself...           To Infinity And Beyond!
