Yes it's true. Too much psytrance, too little quality. It gets annoying having to dig through the crap. Been listening to orchestra recently; takes me much further these days

yeah it's very similar with me.I listen to all posible.I even have a collection of folkore from other countries and a huge one all posible even death metal sometimes,noise,soul,polish mountain natives that is rare,punk,flower power,all the 60s-70s some rockabilly sometimes ,lots of sounds of animals,indians and what not,I have a bit of lack of knowing much of original swing maybe.
I collect all influences to enjoy and dig it besieds all the usual suspects of course and then I stuck for a long time on one main music but it regularely changes to sth else for the next longer period.
This time it's again classical music.
Mostly I come back to ambience(like murcof for instance),jazz,flamenco,and orchestral classical music with a bit drama and psycho touch.Also very like indian instruments like: esraj, harmonium, sitar, tabla etc - good indian classical music is great almost always.I tend to listen lots of more to instrumental deepness.
I find psytrance more and more too repetitive.I listen more to some of the posters here

i have this too, more often than earlier. and always i feel like a betrayer, or like someone who gave up her own style of life and gave up herself. but in the meanwhile it is happening more and more often so i thought ot myself, well face it finally. trance is not to be heard all day long like you did for years.
so i listen these day to that one. there is something extremely special in it. the most beautiful things are always that simple.

Well, psychedelic chill/dub/glitch/step (does this count? ), IDM, metal (most subgenres), shoegazey stuff...
I tend to have days of listening to purely one style of music. A lot of the time it is psytrance, but sometimes it will be metal or any of the above, really. Psytrance and metal are my two biggest loves, though, for sure.

Mostly stuff like Dakini Records & some jazz. Drum & bass, as well as progressive house/techno/ambient like on Bedrock Records and Balance Music. I'm very selective with my psy & goa trance now, so I only have what I like Cuntus Maximus.

Drum & bass, house & techno. Lots of Dakini Records stuff, I don't include then as psychedelic music as to me they're more world fusion. Usually in the car if it's with my wife I'm happy to put on pop radio. It's mindless background noise to me so I tune out & enjoy driving. Every now & then it's kids music for my son but not often at all. As I'm getting older I'm finding trance hard to listen to. I'm finding as life becomes more intense with responsibilities the less I enjoy high bpms.
