Just to let y'all know....

Although (on the flyer) the Main Room visuals are primarily credited to Inside-us-all, Arc-I and RGB, a few nice surprises have emerged since we went to print...

The DVJs (worked specifically with Eat Static, and did stunning side wall visuals in the Rex late last year) + AtomX + WellRedMan from Brighton have all got in contact and decided to collaborate in their wonder working for the main room....

We had a production meeting with a much enhanced visuals team and everything seemed to fall into place.

... Suffice to say that we are all set to receive what could be 8 hours of the most awe inspiring, full surround, psychedelic visual immersion show that the Rex and possibly anywhere in our scene has ever seen!...

Excited?... Me?... Absolutely!

Stay tuned for special news about the Main Stage sound delights very soon...

Just thought I'd drop a quick post to wish all the crew for the Photon Generator party all the luck in the world tomorrow night, and I hope everyone involved (on both sides of the scenes) has a fantastic night. It's so good to see idealistic people getting off their asses and putting their dreams into action instead of just talking about it! Now all we need is a carbon-neutral audio replay format (with pitch control) ...

wow this party was something a bit different! Lots of new ideas.... Daniel wasnt exaggerating in his post above.... the visuals were immersive and amazing. We had 5 screens arranged in a row showing the same thing at the back of the main stage run by Inside Us All and others, then 2 other massive screens along the walls of the main room by Eat Static's visual guys.

It was amazing!! I was shattered unfortunately and enjoyed spending some time on the balcony taking in the event.... until... ooops the balcony was closed. I dunno the details but some troubled soul was threatening to throw themselves off or something? I dunoo. What I do know is that while I was on the door later the security started laughing and pointing outside... i took a look : this dude had crossed the road and was scaling the side of the building opposite like spiderman... well the police were on the scene and talked him down...... hmmmm

back to the party ... the music was also extremely good I thought... I was interested in prometheus beforehand and he was really impressive.... a great live set with lots of energy and good performance...I had to miss Junya and his remix of Voodoo People... but I have a sneaking suspicion I will be hearing this tune again:) Eat Static were AMAZING!!!! When I saw them at glastonbury they played a musically eclectic set of high quality. This time they banged out an hor and a half of nuclear-tipped psychedelic trance.... the tempo varied a lot ... one or two tunes way up there in the heady reaches of 150+ others down to 140. All very very powerful, well produced... I was blown away basically... the version of 'Contact' they played reduced me to blancmange.

Mike carried us through with his brand of new israeli material... quite a bit of infected mushroom (not from the chillout/nopsy disc though hehe)...
into System 7.... hmmm didnt really click with System 7... some tunes were strong, others were too fluffy for me. But as I say I was knackered and could hardly stand at this point....

Lighting was also very good. Decor was the same as in the Fridge the night before! No bad thing....

I hope there were enough people there to break even / generate some funds for Daniel's project. At times it seemed a bit on the quiet side.... tons of room to dance.... Anyway I think more people should have gone to this party... a lot of regular people didnt turn up cos of going to the fridge the night before.... oh well....

Anyway, something a bit different : much heavier emphasis on the visual side than normal, and a slightly different brand of music, just what the doctor ordered! Thanks Daniel!

Must sleep.....

WoW!!!

This was an amazing party, lots of enegy and happy smily hippy ppl

Got there for about midnight and caught most of prometheus who warmed it nicely for junya, who played an excellent full-on set b4 eat static Live (which was not really my cup of chai)...

Jon, donna why u thought i played lots of infected ? ... i did but only at the end of my set with a special 10 minute mega mix of song pong, hush mail, & scorpian frog (which i made in soundforge!).

i did however play lots of new israeli artists namely *delerious* (which imo does sound a little infected) as well as *vibe tribe*, *prosect*, *dynamic*, plus new uk act *diffusion*...

System 7 really suprised me, they played a unique fluffy set that really suited the night and had the crowd gaging for more.

Over all i enjoyed myself loads and i felt the crowd gave off a *magical* vibe!

Super mega duper 8/10

> Jon, donna why u thought i played lots of infected ?

sorry Mike - for me 3 different infected tunes in 1 hour, even when in a megamix.... is a lot It certainly wasnt meant as a criticism hehe!!

Hmm I gotta get that diffusion track off Doron... that's the second time I must have heard it but not realized it was by them! doh!

Jon, WTF!!! that 10 minute special mix of infected (which took me 3 hours to make) was the highlight of my night (i ended my set with it), maybe you would prefered to of heard another 4 hours of banging gms eh?!!

The crowds reaction at the end of it was more than special... Perhaps you needed more sleep dude!!

mike mike! have another look at the tone of my post : that's the problem with the internet I think.... sometimes there are crossed wires.... I mean:

I was very happy with the tunes you were playing! The second time (when I found you were upset) I explicitly said 'it wasnt meant as a criticism'.... I enjoyed all of your set! I dont see any cause for argument.....

Umm maybe this all comes from : For me 'A lot' is not the same thing as 'Too much'....
e.g. 'I listen to a lot of psychedelic trance' hehe

Again I apologize for any confusion and if I have given the wrong impression. I was talking to you on the night and I certainly would have said if I was unhappy about the Infected content... which wasnt the case cos it was ace

amazing party - great set Mike. Eat Static just blew me away - was hoping they would play 'city of sin'.

the rex just seems to have an unmatchable atmosphere. i love it.

biggest problem - after parties ? everything ends too abruptly.

oh yeah - the lighting was just fantastic.

Eat Static and System 7 are 2 of the longest lived psytrance acts around and this party showed why. To me their live sets are in a totally different class to anyone - even Infected Mushroom. IM's set was good but Eat Static twisted me up completely and System7 was one of the few sets I've heard that have really moved me. I was surprised in the run up to the party how few people had heard System7 but hopefully the word will be spreading.
