No, I disagree , the Catholic Church FORCED their opinions upon others; I merely argued that an alternative to Willy's definition of reality existed.           "Love is a way of life"

This thread really went out of line, and I had to delete around 10 posts with unpolite and rude behaviour and very personal insults.

Giving it a second chance, but try to stay within the guidelines, or else it's going to get locked.           DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

what's next? little timmy has cancer benefit?

with all due respect to the dead and the needs of the survivors, you can't make a benefit cd for everything that happens in the world...

Sorry, Bill Hicks again:

I don’t understand anything so there you go…you know what my problem is? I watch too much news, man, that’s my problem, that’s why I’m so depressed all the time, I figured it out. I watch too much CNN, man. I don’t know if you’ve ever sat around and watched CNN more than, I don’t know, 20 hours in one day…I don’t recommend that. Watch CNN Headline News for 1 hour, it’s the most depressing thing you’ll ever fucking do: WAR, FAMINE, DEATH, AIDS, HOMELESS, RECESSION, DEPRESSION. WAR, FAMINE, DEATH, AIDS, HOMELESS...Then, you look out your window... {makes cricket noises} “Where’s all this shit happening? Ted Turner’s making this shit up! Jane Fonda won’t sleep with him, he runs to a typewriter: ‘By 1992, we will all die of AIDS; read that on the air. I don’t get laid, no one gets laid!’" I’m writing Jane Fonda: ‘Will you fuck this guy so we can get some good news, please?’ I want to see a well-laid Ted Turner newscast: “Hey, it’s all going to work out. Here’s sports.”           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

Ok, let change this thread a bit........it will now just be about news on the quake.....

10,000 earthquake children face death

Survivors of the Pakistan earthquake will be engulfed in a "wave of death" unless the international aid effort is stepped up immediately, the United Nations secretary-general said yesterday.

Young survivors wait outside a centre for blankets and food
Kofi Annan challenged the rich countries to face their responsibilities after days of relative indifference to a disaster that relief experts say will have worse consequences than the Boxing Day tsunami.

"I expect results. There are no excuses," Mr Annan said. "If we are to show ourselves worthy of calling ourselves members of humankind, we must rise to this challenge."

Almost two weeks after the quake, less than 14 per cent of the UN's emergency appeal for £180 million has been received.

Unicef, the UN children's organisation, yesterday estimated that 10,000 children will die in weeks. The figure was described as "conservative" by a UN field worker.

Although the official death count remains at 49,739, local authorities put it at almost 80,000.

Mr Annan said he was writing to "a whole set of countries" asking for 450,000 more winter-proof tents and shelters, two million blankets and sleeping bags. Vaccines are also required.

I read today on a danish news site that the UN estimates that this earthquake disaster will have a deadlier outcome than the tsunami catastrophe.

Theres a big difference between media hyped 9-11 and hurricane disasters in the US with under 5000 dead on the richest country in the world, when compared to something with around 50.000-100.000 people dead already, and more sure to follow due to exposure (their houses collapsed, and they live in a harsh environment).

Relief organisations here in Denmark said whatever support they get to help in pakistan is drops in the ocean compared to the tsunami incident. I think, now more than ever, it would be relevant for the people in our culture to show their worth and to launch initiatives to help on every level.
