Is it just me or has Hujaboy not played in Copenhagen very recently? And why the same DJ's over and over again?

Are you organisers relly that uninspired? Boring!

My memory about Hujaboy goes as far back as december last year, when he wa scheduled to play at Amager Bio. Don't know if he ever did but I suppose so. I agree with HandA though (not very often HandA, right? ) that it seems like the same dj's are always filling up the lineup when it comes to this location Bryggen. I wonder if the danish locals around gets bored of the lineup. It feels like I see NiS & Phill playing at almost every single Bryggenevent. Perhaps they're good DJ's (I suppose they are) but it is interesting with variaton...

Last time Hujaboy played in Copenhagen, the lineup was with: Nir Shoshani himself as DJ, and Jaiz & Dropz as DJs: http://www.trancetunnel.dk/pictures/flyers/party_imagefile2731.pjpeg . Different place (The Tube) and different organizers.

Also, I believe Hujaboy is on this lineup, because you could have two live-acts for the lesser cost (flight), since Hujaboy is a part of E-Jekt (actual head live-act, currently with an album-release). But don't ask me the details, I'm not the organizer of this party and I just presume that this is how it's put together.

But it is true that Hujaboy also played in December 2004 (along with S.U.N. Project), with Phill, Omid and myself on the lineup as DJs. Though still, different place (Amager Bio) and different organizers.          LABEL-DJ @ 3D VISION RECORDINGS | www.myspace.com/djraider | www.myspace.com/3dvisionrecordings

I was not after you raider. I know your not the organiser. I am frankly just so damn tired of the Copenhagen organisers and thier lack of creativity and reality sense. They do the same line-up's time after time.. and why? First of all they have thís idea if they bring the same 10-12 so-called "big star" live acts in a circulation within a year then a lot of people will come to the parties. Well as we begin to see. That theory did not hold.
And then there's the very obvious reason. So they can play themself. To be honest it's the only way they would ever get gigs.

I honestly hope that they soon stop making parties so Copenhagen can have a BIG break and re-invent itself with more creative thinking.

And no matter who Hujaboy play for.. It's still in a small city where there's no idea in booking him again so soon.
And to see the same DJ's on the line-up weekend after weekend is frankly nothing but a huge ego-poblem among the "mafia" organisers that book eachother all the time. A boycot from all those "mafia" parties would be a very good thing.

@scobbah

I just wrote a long article on the subject on the danish community sites www.electrobeat.dk and www.trancetunnel.dk

Basicly - I tried to inspire for change - and also, give people my story and explain why DJing on a professional level is not really that possible to maintain within the danish scene.

I dont want to write so long texts here, since it really takes up too much of my time (I spent 5 hours for 3 days just debatting that, and other topics).

What I can say is that organizers are quick to find "excuses" as to why things are the way that they are... Excuses that do not help me stay serious in my DJing - Nor anybody else. (I dare to say, not even the DJs getting all them bookings - since they do not have to evolve as DJs with the competition).

There is a connection between having a serious Dj culture and organizers only booking the same Djs (bookings often based on other factors than "who is the best suited dj").
Basicly, local big organizers do little to nothing to promote a healthy danish dj culture. (our best DJs rarely get booked locally, but more often internationally, like Emok for instance).

If organizers do not support different Djs, many DJs will not get the gigs they need - and when there are "new" DJs, they are always newbies who will play for free, and are not yet ready for the job.
Also, this causes a new problem, Djs not getting paid - Even at the BIGGEST (500+ people) events, DJs often get less than 150 Euros for long sets, despite they are the cream of the crop here. This barely covers what THEY need to maintain a decent record collection (not to speak of the ones not getting bookings).

So quality music at parties disappear (listening to the same Djs all the time means listening to the same music all the time) - So, when quality entertainment disappears, quality trancers disappear along with it... and that is what you see happening in Copenhagen.

If you want to read my "article" on electrobeat, I have a link for you - But it is in Danish.

http://www.electrobeat.dk/iframe.debate_contribution.php?topic=1&thread=4709

If you want to read the Copenhagen organizers replies to it - You will need to enter www.trancetunnel.dk and find the thread "Kære DJ´s, Arrangører & Godtfolk" and read it.
I write very long and serious posts there... So, it will take you some time.

Hard to get a professional dialoque going there. At least, they seem very caught up with "this is how we do it, this is how we have always done it, dont meddle in our business".

Best Wishes.

And also Allan Micro.dot who actually got his shit together and started doing something useful instead... kudos for you allan there has to be more than 3 djs in copenhagen... i think i have like 3 djs as neighbours.... how about giving the new people a chance?

Quote A.Rosengren

"how about giving the new people a chance?"

But if you do that you cant...

- Get to DJ yourself when you are the organizer.
- Provide gigs to other organizers so they book you in turn.
- Make everybody who is kissing your ass happy, because you let them do it.
- Be sure to get Djs who will play for nothing, thereby not getting to earn that much money on the party.

Also, once you have opened pandoras box, it might be really hard to shut it again... So, you will probably have to keep booking other DJs than the usual suspects.

Theres plenty of Djs in Denmark - We dont even need new DJs. We need to put those that we have, to good work though - and promote whatever real talent comes along

Best Wishes
