todays most darkpsy is produced by people with no creativity (some exceptions also)just some darksounds , that sure will produce dark vibes

What's the purpose of this thread? Obviously the multitude of opinions that have been voiced or will be voiced are subject to their own interpretation. Yet we continue to rehash a subject that really probably needs to stay buried, and not because I have any attachment to the verdict, but the fact that this music as a whole was meant for people to understand and respect each other's differences. We are all human beings here, and I would like to think that the music we listen to, whatever it may be, might be something we hold very dear to our hearts. There's no need to insult someone's choice in what music they enjoy for any particular reason whatsoever...
Some days, I'll come on here and people are actually talking about something like how this music and the people related to this music has helped them change their lives to what they wanted, but other days... I'll some of the self professed open minds more conservative than 1950's america... Sometimes I really don't understand you people... What happened to live and let live?

for me its not at all the "dark" music that causes any sort of 'bad vibes' - i actually find most dark psy quite a bit more psychedelic than the other sub genre's of psytrance - its the vocal samples that I have a problem with.
Dark scapes, atmospheres, crunchy sounds/fx are are all absolutely fantastic. but when you have suggestive voices constantly repeating themselves - shouting "you will be judged", and "death, blood, etc..". it just takes away from the whole psychedelic experience for me.
i guess thats more for the stimulation junkies. not my cup of tea. |

I guess it all depends on the listener, a first timer will obiviously find it very disorienting, and in a way it is and experience makes it more friendly to the listener, i guess thats why lots of people prefer to trip in the morning, things are more in control.
The thing with dark psy is that its like an acquired taste not everybody can swallow it.

I am really surprised the moderators even let this thread go on, seeing how they lock everything that has been said innumerable times before.. or is it because they know it's going to be such an intelligent, mature, non-vitriolic, non-abusive discussion? maybe reopening the 'Devil Worshipping' thread again would be useful..

and personally, most quality dark psy makes me smile, I don't find it "dark" at all - just trippy. Badly made psytrance does give me a headache, though.

Dark psy gives bad vibes to my ears ,,,,80% of dark psy projects are low production crap and an insult for trance music and its just a sign of decline ,,,,,but hey for sure its not scary music ,,,its just  |

I guess its a matter of taste, tolerance, beliefs and mental state ( like drugs, mood, etc). Even though psy trancers are open minded well we still all come from different backgrounds, with different experiences, with different tolerance levels, from different countries and different cultures. Conclusion: to not sound like bigots we sort of have to respect the right that everybody has to see things a bit differently.
Hey in Halloween even 5 year old kids dress up as little devils and spooky monsters, is that not dark?? I guess that is just pretend dark and all for fun. Yeah what I don’t like about dark psy trance is when they sacrifice the groovy trancers to the devil, I agree that brings bad vibes.
No but seriously, in a psy party not everybody is in the same mental state. I mean there are so many people <<experimenting>>, challenging their “reality” with the use of drugs. Ummm, YEAH. I mean there could be this crazy hippy trancer that just ate to many shrooms and is having what he thinks is a magical awakening where he is sure every moment has a cosmic message directed at him, well if the dj suddenly plays a dark negative message it can be taken by the trippedout hippy the wrong way.
Here is my personal advice: if dark psy trance gives you bad vibes then try and go to parties that you know have a line up that you can digest, <<specially if you plan to trip out>>. You can’t stop others from liking certain things but you can choose where you go and what you like. So exercise that right.

i could replace the word's "dark psy" in your post with ,with 'full on', 'progressive' or even goa and someone somewhere would agree... but you don't see me doing that...
i guess it's all a matter of perception and realizing some people might have different affinities and taste...
this message is not only intended at you, but in general... It has turned so fashionable to rant about the 'demise' of psy trance and why it's dying and it's only crap... yet when it comes time to actually do something about all the complaining our names are not in blue... i guess we aren't helping the situation much then. If 80% of the music is crap then it should be no big deal getting on the boat and releasing something noticiably better in no time huh?
dark psy personally does not produce "bad vibes' in me, quite contrary, it puts a big old smile on my face and it generally keeps me from falling asleep on the late hours of the night, whereas most music wouln't... taste is taste and i'm not going to argue with someone about it, cause i think you should hear the music you like regardless, and if it makes you half as happy as it makes me then, rock on
