I don´t think so. It`s sometimes very emotional, but that is not meaning that it then is automatically sad ... just beautiful, touching ... if u feel sad, then it`s an effect, but not the musc beeing sad ... the same music can transfer different feelings to different people ... just a few quick thoughts ... |

well for me ne music which brings out an 'emotion' is wot i like
if it makes me happy
if it makes me sad
if it makes me dance
if it woteve
but if the tune has the power to prick my emotion i like it
so basically i dont care if it makes me sad or happy as long as it touches me from inside
the problem with valuing art is, till u dont understand it, it's worthless but wen u do understand it, it's priceless!! |

For me great sadness & great joy are incredibly close. Chillout music is often the line on which it balances & I love it
Wait.....What? |

I think Sweet&Sour chrispy chicken is the best option

A lot of it sounds very dreamy or happily chilled out. I can't think of many songs that actually strike me as wistful or sad. Then again, it's all in the individual's interpretation. That's part of the beauty of any style of music. |

it all sounds sad when you are off the heroine.
Nothing is said that has not been said before. |

maybe sad is deep, and it affects you in that way. |

good question..really! i had never really thought about it before. i guess i prefer the melancholy kind of chillout.. and true melancholy to me is mostly rooted in "sad" harmonies.
cheers

It wouldn't be chill out if it didn't invoke some sort of a wistful, melancholy, downbeat feeling
