Classical music is wonderful, full of various emotions. I listen to it not very often, but when I do it classical compositions take all my emotions and attention to it.

I realy enjoy to listen a composers like KARL HEINZ STOCKHAUSEN ( madness mind ), IGOR STRAVINSKY (his own style) & PIERRE BOULEZ (serialism really high diffcult technical) of the 20th Century.

Franz Schubert( brilliant romantic piano pieces,Ludwing Van BEETHOVEN ( THE 9th symphony is a masterpiece )of the 19th century

And for sure Wolfang Amadeus Mozart ( his Requiem wow! ) and for sure Johann Sebastian Bach, another genius of all time clasical music...

Quite a fan of contemporary 'classical', neo-classical or whtever it's called.
Listening to some Ryuichi Sakamoto just now and it's quite emotive.

I listen to classical music almost everyday these days.
Be it orchestral for piano or for the violin, chamber orchestra or just string quarttets and triads. Not operas though.

Saying that this music is the origin of all music today is a bit too much for me, but probably has its footprint.

While all music we hear today is based on folk music from all over the world, classical music differs in many ways. And connecting it to the indian musical dialect would be hard too. Meaning that I take every traditional to its place music as folk - indian also.
Classical is for those special years, in that special time and place - with those speicific rules and yet freedom.

I also concluded recently after talking with many people, that classical music is really more appreciated by musicians, than people who don't know how to play an instrument.
- "it's not interesting" they told me,
while we were listening to at least 3 tempo changes and 10 different melody patterns flowing over 2 basic bases - played on those difficult instruments by 4 string musicians at varying velocities, perfect sync and with that extra human touch, creating an evergoing story with a surprising virtousy and such a harmonic richness...

oh well - whatever makes everyone happy I say.

Do you sometimes tend to listen to some classical music like Mozart, Vivaldi, Chopin, Ravi Shankar, Yaani or any of the great composers?
As psytrance is all about emotions and musical experience, do you believe that classical music shares the same agenda?
Why?

yes
