To anyone who thinks that full-on is all starting to sound the same (as I was until yesterday):

Mr Peculiar - Mind-Dala - Sonic Dragon

This will restore your faith in full-on psychedelic trance.

Even full on can be psychedelic.

the quote about women i found very funny...must get some big big hits...
and yes it is true, there is full on very very psychedelic but nowadays is very hard 2 find it..           ...

I feel the same way, I listen to very few trance releases nowadays (or rather i find very few releases to be of high quality.), but when I get my hands on a great Trance CD it's usually very, very entertaining, Unusual suspects 2 is a perfect example... However their is so much good psy-chill being produced, so i don't mind.

Today I popped and old mix from Mick Chaos in my walkman for a session of trancercise in the morning... and yes the arrangements are awesome and rocking, but I also felt it was dated.

exactly!
and all the astrix wannabes are such a lamers i want to puke...

but actually i can see so many "Misted" wannabes lately
but this is good thing because Misted is a good example for really quality psytrance with many directions.

it`s not.
astrix and misted are the same. they both sound like eskimo. only astrix has his own little trick and misted is more "goa" oriented. they both sound like trance from years ago with a big difference in production.
i don`t hate them but there r tons of little astrix`s out there. that`s the way it is nowdays.
btw. killer buds... the album is an example of "it all sounds the same" but if u liten to other stuff by killer buds on various compliations... it has nothing to do with the album and that is a great example for diversity.
now about the topic: it all sounds the same cause almost everyone use the same tools. the same equipment and after all u do have to sitck to some basic patterns if u want it work . some patters or sound proved themselfs on dancefloor across the world and at home. they work . so y not use them?
experimenting is great but lots of times it doesn`t work on the dancefloor or even at home. somtimes it does work. anyway what i`m saying is this is all part of the scene growing and growing.
money comes in, fame comes in,
ppl want a piece of it.
in conclusion: the real musicians and artist in the scene tend to stand out from all the others. and i hope these r the ppl who`ll keep doing it after the scene`s popularity will decay....and all the wannabe`s will go be wannabe`s on ohter generes.
if u dig deep enough u just might reach the sky...

yea i think thats the biggest reason it all sounds pretty much the same. The synthesis side of things has got incredibly boring. 95% of every track released is mainly an access virus, nord lead or a software emulation of those 2 synths. If you look at the music creation section and someone asks what synth to get the answer will be nord lead/virus or a software emulation of those 2.
What would it sound like if koxbox, hallucinogen and shakta all made their music on just an access virus? It wouldnt sound nearly as different than those 3 sound next to each other with their own synths.

Please artist, there are thousands more synths today than in 1998, burn your virus and nord lead, those sounds have been used to death.

well you actually can *tweak* the nord...so i´t won´t sound all the same. at least music i make ppl. don´t say it sounds the same. i think this is also a problem since i have no real target audience.

but i don´t care that ppl. can´t accept that i like blackmetal , goa , industrial and even some pop *g*

open minded seems to be missing today....
