And not cross sub genre doesn't apply. More like all progressive somehow sounds the same or all full on sounds the same or maybe all the stuff some label releases sounds the same. Or maybe all the tunes some artist releases sound like next to identical. Last night I had this revelation for the first time with progressive as I couldn't say for sure wether I was listening to Midi Militz or X-Dream. Not that it was a negative thing since imo both of those 2 groups totally kick arse. With full on I can't say the same thou.. it's just a blur to me these days. Some artists release albums with 9 almost identical tracks.. used to think the same about minimal trance @ 2001 or something..

I've wondered some time now, if the full on artists have made a pact or something? Because I can't understand how everyone can use THE SAME f*ckin bassline?

I mean, they sound exactly the same, so they must all use the same equipment, and same pattern... what is this? A conspiracy no less!           Ut ameris, amabilis esto.

yes.has chaos theory said, but very few stand out of thix clonning.very very few.
and i don´t think astrix was the father of full on..other artists were producing full on before him..but he discovered a nice bassline and effects and a lot went after him.

i feel that way sometimes. some of it is understandable. a certain amount of "being identical" is needed to form a genre. of course, this can be taken too far. fullon is the easiest to pick on. fullon has split itself into a few seperate (but very similar) sub genres.

i want to say something like "its a shame artists can't break away from the mold," but i like the "mold." agressive rolling basslines, acidy leads, squelchy noises, thats what makes it trancey for me. im a bit spacific on what type of fullon i like. it takes a good bit of searching.

anyway, the more popular fullon tracks and artists are in a rut at the moment. they found something that works and they are afraid to move out of the "safe zone." and i dont blame them, its understandable.

to me, sounds are completly different from fullon artist to fullon artists. take Shift for example. his leads are unique compared to anyone else, in my opinion. while i still consider him "fullon," he is completely different than other artists from the same country and/or genre.

i dont even remember my point anymore. i kinda ran away with my words. i guess my entire post can be summed up in these words:

Its attack of the clones!! lets hope the emperor doesnt execute order 66!!           The IsraTrance MySpace Group:

If you feel like it sounds all the same then I have a tip for you: Try listening to another genre for a while, and I don't mean if you listen to full on all the time, you start listening to progressive. No, listen to something completely different, like experimental electronic music, like Autechre, Andre Kiritchenko, Kotra (if your ears can take his stuff), CD-R, to name but a few artists. Most of this stuff is for free download as well, on various netlabels like Zeromoon, Autoplate, Thinner, Webbed Hands Records, Nexsounds etc. etc. Believe me, after listening to experimental electronics for a while you'll be dying for your beats again... hehehe           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. Do you ever had the feeling that "bashing threads sounds the same"?

Think about it: if it sounded all the same it would all be unreleased killarg...

The main problem, IMHO, is that at parties must music played are very similar. DJs like to play "Big Hits" from "Big Names" or Unr. Killarg because they think this will bring them more women.

IMO music at parties is not that much psychedelic because the DJs give priority to "power/energy" over psychedely.

A word for the full on haters: Even full on can be psychedelic.

the sales decide about dead or alive. and the labels take care that they release sound which works on the market. experiments are too riskfull. and you need experiments before inventing something new, this is the circle of digging his own goodbye.
means: in a few seasons we have less labels, and much more innovations. less labels because they are too many for just 2-4 niches. and more innovations, because a few clever ones create new ones.

I think there is different parties, different ppl and different situations which require a different trip for different ppl. Although I always fell tempted to bang the unitiated with some hardcore evil tune, I also understand i might clear the dancefloor, because it is the wrong track for that moment. I do believe ppl should have a good time. If I am playing in a fuzzy loving party I will sell out for everyone to doof and shake that behind, but I might surprise them with something from the strange and trully psychedelic... There are not that many of those in my way though, but i do not mind to do it. In a way sometimes I need to get out the night state of mind...

I think there is enough music out there to create different journeys. I feel that some DJs and promoters form the green team and some other DJs and promoter form the red team. So their parties are monochromatic and then it all sounds the same. I like the parties where there is progression and a multicolor array of styles and sounds. Some please the crowd, some surprise them some will take them somewhere unexpected. Somewhat like a journey

It is up to the DJs and promoters to get creative tosing the salad with variation in the lineups.

BOM!
