It's not about whom they promote. It’s about the fact itself that they promote, that’s all. This whole thread was started – and now continued – under the false pretenses that it’s a conversation about genre trends. In fact, it’s been little more than a bulletin board for one particular user to post videos of the same 1-2 acts he is promoting.

Go through all 20 pages of this thread and delete every promo video by users Electromty Team and MaJ1KO (which are in fact the same person) – how many pages will be left in this discussion?

they are just going with the flow of fashion tendences, i always think that past psytrance lives was a shit and now i know what, the reason is they dont do a honest psytrance, that was just fashion shit because of the popularity of psytrance in past years, its a constant think, fake people do fake things, mnaybe they do popular like things but noy really good music.

now is techno and in the future what gonna be? idm, drum and bass? who knows?

ur post is only dumb and ur ignorant ... !!!

yeah maybe i will do drum and bass if i feel like doing it ...

do u only listen psytrance 24/7 ?? then ur very limited ...

i like many styles of music ... i even did some hip hop .. should i be ashamed of anything if i have fun doing it ?

It's not about following trends ...it's about haveing fun with different styles of music ...
And about boredom doing the same over and over again ...

I think if u would be a painter ...u only would paint aquarells ....and never try airbrush ...

1996 Music -> 2000 Music ->2006 Music -> 2009 Music ...

hehe, I love many genres, the point is: It's much coincidence that in a period of time so many guys to change a specific subgenre to another, and my point was that in reality those who changed to minimal techno is because they are immature and have no true identity and never were psytrance artists, the question of whether psytrance gms ever made is very ironic, that guys in reality have always been trash and others as alien project, time lock, protoculture, etc never did serious psytrance so with ease just do another genre that is in fashion that never understood the meaning of the psychedelic and music in general, it is obviously for artists to do other genres such hux flux doing ambient, but even by ambient feel the essence of denisse, he is sincere doing any kind of style, is common sense, you could imagine Simon Posford making minimal techno and just now? or to parasense making techno? is simply not coherent.

Yeah, there are trends in music - pretty impressive that you figured that out

I do think your reasoning that "since they're following trends NOW all their music in the past must also be shit and unoriginal" is far out.

Let's take GMS for instance: I am not a huge fan of their new proggy/tech sound, and I was certainly not a big fan of most of their full on stuff, but I don't agree with you in saying that early stuff like "Chaos Laboratory" and "Growly Family" is immature and "un-serious" psytrance because they went with the flow on their later stuff.

Who knows - maybe they were more "true" psytrance listeners and musicians back then than you and I will ever be. Maybe they put all their heart and soul into their music, and that's why many people consider those albums classics (although I must admit they aren't among my personal favorites from that era).

And who knows - perhaps something good will come out of following trends. Perfect Stranger is a good example of a producer who has taken some influences from the musical zeitgeist, as well as staying true to his musical roots and hereby creating something completely new and - in my opinion - interesting. This is the essence of musical evolution and progression.

Flying Rhino - widely considered one of the most influential and progressive (in the true meaning of the word) psytrance labels ever also got influences from other, more popular genres through the years, and today James Monro is for instance making techno. Is he also just immature and has no true identity? Isn't his music sincere because it's what's popular at the moment?

Hey, at the end of the day I also think that a lot of the prog/techno stuff IS pretty bad. But there is bad music in all genres.          DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase
