Its an unusual thing: A 2nd techno scene Was born inside the Trance scene. I wonder if it's possible that 2nd Trance scene will start in another style of music.

Yes: minilogue, extrawelt, border community, traum, max cooper, bodzin all those labels and artist are many times referred as neo trance in the techno scene.

hehe, I love many genres, the point is: It's much coincidence that in a period of time so many guys to change a specific subgenre to another, and my point was that in reality those who changed to minimal techno is because they are immature and have no true identity and never were psytrance artists, the question of whether psytrance gms ever made is very ironic, that guys in reality have always been trash and others as alien project, time lock, protoculture, etc never did serious psytrance so with ease just do another genre that is in fashion that never understood the meaning of the psychedelic and music in general, it is obviously for artists to do other genres such hux flux doing ambient, but even by ambient feel the essence of denisse, he is sincere doing any kind of style, is common sense, you could imagine Simon Posford making minimal techno and just now? or to parasense making techno? is simply not coherent.

Yeah, there are trends in music - pretty impressive that you figured that out

I do think your reasoning that "since they're following trends NOW all their music in the past must also be shit and unoriginal" is far out.

Let's take GMS for instance: I am not a huge fan of their new proggy/tech sound, and I was certainly not a big fan of most of their full on stuff, but I don't agree with you in saying that early stuff like "Chaos Laboratory" and "Growly Family" is immature and "un-serious" psytrance because they went with the flow on their later stuff.

Who knows - maybe they were more "true" psytrance listeners and musicians back then than you and I will ever be. Maybe they put all their heart and soul into their music, and that's why many people consider those albums classics (although I must admit they aren't among my personal favorites from that era).

And who knows - perhaps something good will come out of following trends. Perfect Stranger is a good example of a producer who has taken some influences from the musical zeitgeist, as well as staying true to his musical roots and hereby creating something completely new and - in my opinion - interesting. This is the essence of musical evolution and progression.

Flying Rhino - widely considered one of the most influential and progressive (in the true meaning of the word) psytrance labels ever also got influences from other, more popular genres through the years, and today James Monro is for instance making techno. Is he also just immature and has no true identity? Isn't his music sincere because it's what's popular at the moment?

Hey, at the end of the day I also think that a lot of the prog/techno stuff IS pretty bad. But there is bad music in all genres.

no I do not mean that, just now they confirmed what they always were, that's not even good "techno". pual oakenfold made huge sets of goa some of the best of all time as the goa mix, global underground new york and oslo are masterpieces, and now it makes commercial shit but does not play that shit in goa partys, what I annoying is the attitude of these people, want to play their music in goa partys, with the attitude of "this music is better than full on or goa because is slower and finer" in my city tehere are no more goa partys, now are "minimal techno" pertys outdoors, that's the point, these people infect the essence of goa partys with pretention, I'm not intolerant or a bad person just for pointing out the obvious, that minimal techno is crap and has no soul

yeah let out that bullshit of "scenes" "times" everybody with a little of common sense can see that psy producers that now do techno is for the reason of techno becomes popular in the last years, there are just tendences, fashions, just see the exponents...gms, wrecked machines, save the robot, they was never psychedelic at all.

I will still make the logic conclusion that:

If the music played in a party of Festival has got nothing to do with Psytrance then do not call the Party or Festival a Psytrance Party/Festival.

Simple as that           www.beatagency.dk

after 21 reading Pages... i just can say...that Psytechno yes, it's Exclusive for the Delta, X-Dream, Midimiliz and that Branch of sound...

bout riktam y bansi... they do Prog House, not techno, not Remotely near of the essence of Psytechno, it's Commercial Music, shame that really prestigious labels of Psyprog are going that direction, and pushing real Psyheads towards new Soundscapes, like Dark Progressive and the Real Psytechno sound(and it's not bad, i really like it, yet, i miss that Really Creative prog psy...)
