um. when you dj you play a nice track, meanwhile you browse and listen using the headphones to the next track you want to put. according to the ppl, the bpm, the time, etc. ok well.. from my poor short experience it takes like 2mins max to find a good track. then what?!?! you have like entire long 5 mins till you enter with the next track. what do you do till then? :) :)
you just act like you dj? tweak buttons? play with the mixer?
or maybe develope this "dj dance" which is like dancing while standing.. argh. I think it's hard acting and showing like you do something while you're actually not doing a thing. ;)

Well it depends I guess. I smoked a lot before at the decks, but now I'm not a smoking person anymore (4.5 months already!) I dunno what I do, check if everything is ok :) |

ok just how long can you check if everything is ok? :)
cause of all those check ups you hear sudden pauses and such in sets because honestly the dj is bored and play with stuff. hehehe. :)
do you come with a prepared tracks list? or choose the tracks in the party.. many dj's prefer a prepared set and then it's even worse. you just check for a few secs when to enter with the track and then for entire 8mins you "check if everything's ok"......

yeah does everyone make list for party tracks?
well i do sometimes but i change it during the set then when i came up with something....i dunno
know, its interesting...i never mentioned someones set...so do u? |

2 minutes to find a good trak
1 minute for cue and bpm
2 minutes of sample mixing and back to start + cue again.
mix.
never forget to look cool - if youre dancing, prancing or standing. :)

Yeah...Point...And, I'm not as good-looking...
(I truely like this moving style now at my advanced years. It gives me the opportunity to roll with the music and not crash after 2 tracks...The man is a genious). |

This one is true - why don't promoters arrange high bar chairs for old DJs? You know how I feel at the end of a 3 hours set? (Like those wedding DJs...) |
