So what DJ Mixers do you use?
Why do you prefer this one?
And what are you missing?
What kind of DJ'ing are you doing?
Do you like to play with effects?

Pioneer DJM 600.

It has 4 channels, great output compressing (can run about 2 reds on the master out and it won't distort), just the right amount of stuff-doesn't have a bunch of useless bells and whistles, great sound quality, durable, and everyone is familiar with pioneer.

Missing nothing. 3 eqs is just fine for djing. However, master volume as a fader is kinda bleh, but I just tape it down at parties...

I love the flanger

The only thing that pisses me off about the 600 is the input trims, they are so poorly calibrated. No one needs an input trim scaled from infinity.

I posted in the other thread, the DJM-600 has a few flaws that I don't like:
- The color scheme isn't very visible in the dark (but if you're just using it for your bedroom this isn't that bad)
- You can only have one channel on each side of the crossfader at a time, so you can't have channels 1 and 2 on the left and 3 and 4 on the right (which is what I prefer when I'm playing CDs and vinyl both)
- It's kind of noisy
- The master volume is a fader rather than a knob so it's easy to knock around.

Also the master volume fader and master balance knob DON'T affect the booth monitor output's volume, but DO affect the volume of the master through the headphones. This doesn't make any sense to me and it's kind of annoying. In addition, there's a cue button for master (like for the channels) but that doesn't make any sense as there's a cue/master knob by the headphone output.

Oh and it doesn't have balance controls for each channel which is something that I think every mixer needs

Behringer DJX700

Tries to mimic what the djm 600 does.

Buy it only when your on a budget constraint as it is comparatively way cheaper.           "Whoever said the best things in life are free... obviously grew their own bud"

Ecler would be my choice too had i known this valuable piece of info before my purchase.

But the Behringer gets the job done i use it rarely im not a pro dj so use is minimal.           "Whoever said the best things in life are free... obviously grew their own bud"

Behringer makes the job done indeed but let me tell you where: in ruining your sound!!! I rather use Numark mixer ( The serie 3002 ) which is 100s times better than this Behringer one. Just try to think that way

Gotta agree the circuit is not the cleanest on the block has a very slight hiss you can hear when you dont play anything.

Well my horribly horribly abused numark DJ mixer finally committed suicide with a horrendous crackle and beep swan song..

Looking for a replacement DJ mixer.. something basic and affordable, just for at home practice.. I'd like it to have level meters and the standard 3 band EQ etc.. I'm looking for quality that won't break the bank ?

Maybe something used? I really like the Pioneer DJM 600 but I've also played on more BROKEN 600s than any other mixer ever.

This looks really nice

i have the worst mixer in the world!numark m1,2 channels,no mids.you simply can't have a proper mix!bought it whith 2 pioneers 400 cause of low budget...in half a year faders and knobs are distorting.but now i'm going for the nuo5.and yes i think effects are very usefull specially during the mix...
btw i hate the fact that mixers whith fx in each channel are much more expensive than those in the master!

If you're going for a brand new nuo, maybe you should check out the evo4 also.

If I had the money, the Xone-42 would definately be my mixer.
