Different Prices For Girls & Boys At Clubs.

I'm writing a small article about the "Club Culture", concerning mostly brazilian clubs. But I'm trying to research on the e-music club scene around the world, as an additional reference. And I've stumbled into a couple of peculiarieties, which I believe, are particular to the brazilian Club scene. And I would like to hear from you wether this SAME behaviour take place in your countries.
These are:
1) - Different prices for boys & girls. Here in Brazil, Clubs tend to charge discounted addmission fees for girls. This is usually done in a couple of ways: (A) - By printing tickets for BOYS and different ones for GIRLS. with different retail prices. OR (B) - By keeping discounted guest lists, so that one may call the club prior to the specific night, place her name on it, and get a discounted price upon admission, at the gate.
(This usually happens at indoor parties/clubs only).
2) - In Brazil Clubs (specially Trance ones) do not charge a fixed admission fee; Instead, they charge a REDEEMABLE admission fee. You are entitled to spend the whole value charged in beverages/food inside the premises, up to the value of the admission fee. If you are to spend more than that, then you'll pay the excess when you leave the place. (With this method, prices range from U$5 to usd 16, fully redeemable, or sometimes, partially redeemable).
Again, even with this second method, prices are different for boys and girls. Usually a 40% discount is standard for this method.
The logic behind this is merely promotion-targeted, for its common belief among the club owners & promoters in here that boys go after girls and vice-versa, being this one of the most "creative" promotion strategies over here.
Given all this, I would like to learn from you all how it works in your countries. Do you practice different prices as we do in here ?? |

Well from what i have seen and experienced,
clubs in france men have to pay to get in and women, mostly get in for free, specialy if there hot.
And in sweden everybody have to show id and pay to get in, whetever you're a hot bitch or not.
 Making full-on (specialy with a vb-1) is like playing FIFA in easy mode, you're always sure to win. |

In Greece the girls (the beatiful ones ofcourse) give a hug and a kiss to the party organiser and enter the club for free.
The rest just pay their ticket hehe.

This is absolutely shocking!
in england, im glad to say, there is no favoritism; not coz threres no "hot" chicks - but because those "hot" chicks are usually concealed under many layers of clothing...
probably due to the weather!

Except that she will tell to everyone the next day that you are gay and no girl will be interested in you anymore in the future LOL

here they use this kind of marketing also things like:
*girls free before midnight (of course many get there at 12:15)
*girls 2x1 before midnight 
*cheaper presale than ticket at door
personally i think its good strategy of marketing because hopefully u organizers get more 'hot girls' in the party and more boys wanna come. especially if u get a good reputation that your parties get full of girls

We need more women in parties so its ok to be more flexible with them with the entrance fee so we can 'attract' more.

our soceity and human nature is sexually oriented at all times.... it is pretty much the reason for our existance. now, add the fact that globally our cultures (even in the west) are male dominated and in some ways clearly sexist with the idea that a club needs to make money and you can get this result.
i can only speak for myself as a male human heterosexual that it is much nicer to see a good balance of males and females at a party. more then that, i will never protest the addition of "good looking" females to an event.
YET, at Ecliptic-Trance, i have never used this as a marketing tool in order to make the parties more attractive in a sexual nature. i really believe that trance is the one place where girls and guys are equal, where we are not selling sex, not selling fake smiles, not tricking anyone into anything except a pure HUMAN asexual experience. i am a true believer in this idea and because of that do not worry about the amounts of each sex at an event. i see everyone as 1 entity dancing and pooling their energy into 1 focus.
its not about male or female - its about music and whoever is looking for something else might be dissapointed or should try another scene where sex is the main idea of the experience.
