For some reason, i'm no more in the mood to go to parties anymore! i still love the music and all, but not in the mood to drag myself to every single party just to be there!
i hear a lot from people that at some point they simply stopped going to parties, and keep their appetite for few festivals only.

anyone feels the same?

I'm probably older because going to parties is something I do once or twice per year, mainly because most parties here are far from what I feel a party should be like.

Of course I can go to these parties and have huge amount of fun dancing with my friends, but the motivation to go to another party is not here...

I think I have to catch a nice 4+ days Festival...

It depends really. The reality in my country and city that I live in right now is the fear of cops. You don't want to take the risk of going to an outdoor party and being caught even if you don't have any drugs on you or aren't doing anything illegal! That's just the state of corruption here. Parties here are the same...nothing new or innovative added here + you meet the same people all over again, EVERYTIME!! *sigh*

I have been going to parties only couple times a year for a long time now. Its been like that six or seven years now and I think it will stay the same. And I have never been to a festival.

Even in delhi. Sad but true.

I've stopped going to parties myself. the vibe is almost predictable. as much as i would love to go and just be on my own , i dont. its much better when im at home and can choose the music i want to play. i only go to parties oraganised by a select few organisers (maybe once in three months) where i can be sure of having a great time.

For sure its about the age M8...
Im also, in the past years i used to go
every weekend to a party but the last 2 years i've lost the urge of going to partys. basicly the generation changed and in partys i can see only younger ppl that just now disscovere trance partys, while the "old" generation that i know and use to see them in partys all of those years grow up and have famly's so its natural that they will "relax"..
Im enjoy of going to festivals in europe once a year or two and to fill my energys in this way..

Cheers

For me it always depends on the line up and the settle. In fact to go to listen Goa in a club is not as fun as a freaky party in the wood. Even if I am listening this music nearly 8 years now, it always depends on the party, music and people. And sometimes you don't know why there is a sort of communion between these 3 aspects...And it's killa !!!           Nia KOR

Had been to a small gathering last week... and after a series of unfortunate events (read: selfishness, stupidity and immaturity on display)... i realized theres nothing psychedelic or 'PLURy' bout the scene... out here atleast... its no different from any other scene with loads of useless attitude being thrown around by random clowns... no hard feelings though...

so yeh im done with parties... wat a coincidence this thread comes up today...           -.-. .... --- --- ... . / .-.. --- ...- .

yes i agree about the vibe been predictable after few years of going to parties. also the fact that generations are changing and younger people than u or me are now more or less taking our place... I hope that we will not lose our appetite for going to a festival in a few years just as it happens with parties these days. My preference at the moment is small gatherings of 10-20 people in the nature for a weekend with a reasonable sound system.

No, not completly.

Too much of something just makes you burn out. Between 1998-2004 I used to run to every party and festival I could find, even if the way was long and the rest of my life got less attention.....
Then I just couldnt do it anymore. It just became too much for me to handle somehow. As soon as I would be sitting in the car on the way to a festival/outdoor my heart beat and guts would start to go wierd, as if my mind/body was remembering the million times before. Everythhing just became too intense for me, and I didnt even take any drugs. The few times (2-3 festivals, 2-3 parties a year) I did go I didnt really enjoy myself as much as before. I ended up becoming the guy I never wanted to be, winging and complaining about wanting to go home way too early. Sometimes I would drive to a festival with my girl (maybe 3-8 hours drive) only to
drive back 12 hours later, dreaming of a soft bed, a hot bath, and a good night smoke from my own, clean glass bong.
I kept going despite this though because I always needed the fix of deco, music and festival madness once in a while.

Then I had to move to China because of work and havnt been to a real party for almost 16 months. Now I am at a stage where I HAVE to go to 2-3 festivals in a row this summer or I will go nuts .

I think in future I will go with this quality instead of quantity strategy, saving money to buy a decent bus or caravan. I am getting too old (30 soon ) to always rough the nights out in a tent or car seat. The times I go I really want to enjoy my time without hassles or taking obnoxious drugs just to stay awake. Basically I want to relax, but I love the music and festival atmosphere too much, so impossible to stop totally.
Maybe I will also even just go to one festival a year, combining it with holidays to nice, exotic destinations or something.

And yeah, I guess in the end it also has something to do with the state of the scene as a whole, like people have mentioned, or as discussed in the "The problem with psytrance" thread.

I also whanted to add that i been going to partys since age 16 (im almost 30 now - that means i've been going to trance partys since the early 90's) and i remember the trance scene since the first days when ppl heard the word "trance" and didnt knew what it means ( ppl immediately connect that word to drugs) , that days was pure and underground.. not like today...
u had a few artists and not 13$@$@%%341234 artists like today.. so basicly the old days are good memory, and everyone in some point gets tired from going to the same things all over and over again..( especially in a small country like israel that u see the same faces every week..)

like i said, once a year to go to a major festival like BOOM or VUUV is enough for me now and the crowd in this festivals reminds me the good old days and how a party should be...
for now im enjoy to be updated with the music that rls and to listen to trance music in my home,car,friends,studio's,etc...

trance music will allways will be in my heart and i will listen to it even 10 years from now couse music is someting that i love without connection to age or other ressons..

Cheers

I did!
For the past 2, maybe 3 years, there have been few parties that I reaaaaaly enjoyed it, and had fun. Like real fun. When you enjoy each minute of the party.

Most of them, it's the same bullshit. People trying to show themselves. They put on some fancy/expensive/cool clothes (like Hoffman's T-Shirts, etc.) big cowboy hats, huge sunglasses. It's almost a fashion parade. Come on!!

Now, only Free entrance parties, and when I get a free ticket from one of my friends.
It just doesn't turn me on anymore...

So, I became a home listener. I'm improving my mixing technics and starting to learn a bit about production. Not for commercial matters, just for fun really.

And of course, discussing good subjects here in Irstrance.
That's Psy-Trance for me these days.

Ps: And I'm not getting old. Only 22.

Regards!
