...When you listened, for the first time, to some track, rejected him and after additional listenings, became connected to him?
That leads me to another point:
Did you ever listen attentively, and say "that's brilliant"!, right after u heard some track for the first time?

With psytrance, the first time I hear a song is the best. Thats when its full of surprises .
(when listening to psytrance I always listen to it attentively, it just grabs all of my attention)
With non electronic music , the songs that I like the best were the ones I didnt like at first .
(Non electronic music is good as background music. I dont have to focus so much)

Well, I'd tend to say that when something's brilliant (a book, a movie, a piece of music...), your first reaction is to reject it because you don't understand it at the first glance. You feel that something's special, powerful, but you can't cope with it first, you feel disturbed, almost ill at ease. You need to dig deeper.

AFAIAC, my best example is Koxbox - Dragon Tales, which I thought sucked the first times I listen to it, though feeling something was here, waiting to be unveiled to be fully appreciated. This album is in my Top 10 now.

The first time i heard the scandinavian sound i had to get used to it... the first time i danced to it I needed about a few hours to find the rythm/guides... the first night i partied on it... i won't forget soon )))

stuck on it ever since

its's rule for me:

first time I can never dive into the track. I need to listen very well few times to it untill I get the general idea, only then I can see if I am able to like it or to bash it.

Although most tracks today lack general ideas - I can never listen to them more than once.           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

it happend about 2 hours ago ! i listened to a song for the first time (dino psaras&x-dream) and my first impresion what that it`s not so good !(to housey , to slow) but after i listened to it a couple of times again , i got completly mad about it ! so i consider you can`t say you`r final oppinion about a songs after just one listening, like you can`t give you`r final oppinion about an album after you`r first listening !

Well, i agree with Goanna Jeff and Trip- i'd experience uknown number of cases, which i rejected some track (non electronic music mainly) and after additional listenings became connected to him.

Goanna - i definitely agree with your words ragarding to the non electronic music.
one thing i disagree with you though, is the fact you mentioned connecting with your words "non electronic music as background music...don't have to focus so much".
Well, there are so much quality intelligent and complicated music there, when you are just 'attracted' to focus so so much

Jeff - i coudn't agree more with these words by you : "You feel that something's special, powerful, but you can't cope with it first, you feel disturbed, almost ill at ease. You need to dig deeper " , the key word in here is 'feel'.

Trip - on the other hand, i know the feeling that you just wrote about. Personalley, Penta-1190 is just gifted work by him, which i became connected only after few another listenings (first i couldn't "eat" it).

there are tracks that are like "open books", that you can easily understand first time (most with a catchy tune etc.) and then again there are others that are more "complex" and each time you listen to them you discover something new. this makes them more lasting over time (u dont get bored so quickly), but then again the "easy" tracks need less concentration and fit in more times of the day (can also be listened to as background music). of course there are also the "gems" that can attract you when u first listen to them, plus they have a lot of secrets to reveal..........

Yes!

At first I thought the SunDaze compilation was pretty boring... but after many listens I can say it's the #1 compilation of 2003 for me.

I could never say a track is amazing the first time I would hear it...           How am I supposed to hallucinate with all these swirling colors distracting me!

Actually, I find it very easy to connect to new music. Penta - 1190 was a track I loved from the first time I heard, but that's because I remembered days when Psychopod did basically the same energy, only even crazier

For me the album that grew on me the most... Aphex Twin - Classics. When I bought it, I loved 3.5 tracks from there. Now I think this entire album is an electronic masterpiece.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

I do. a lot of times...
Sometimes I cant pay the deserved atention that one tracks needs... It depends of my mood... another times is the opposite... The track get me in the right place, in the right time with the right vibe... Render me, bristle me and cross my brain. Its a Shock! !
Listening to a track supposed to be boring several times, it can catch me (or not) one day. It just needs to make a connection!           "...Life must to be a preparation for transition to another dimension..."
