Greetings Isratrance..!
I am not new to producing, I have been producing Trap music for almost 2years.. and I've been working with Ableton Live.
So.. I know its about the person using the DAW but.. I heard lots of people saying Psytrance is the best when its made from Cubase and stuff.. not sure if its true or not.!
So I was wondering If Ableton Live can produce high quality fullon tracks..??
Thank you ! |

You can make PsyTrance in many DAW's, it depends in which one you find yourself more confortable.
Anyway most common DAW's I've heard from Psytrance producers are Cubase, FL Studio and Ableton Live.

Sorry forgot my other accounts username so made a new one -_-.. haha (bad memory) xD
So.. I was wondering on how to make those kind of fullon night time lead like Alienn, Neo genetics, Orca, Panayota and artists like that those kind of squeaky filter like leads.. Will all DAW's be able to make those kind of leads or is it certain DAWS or is it made by VST's? |

its not the DAW that makes the sounds and leads, its the synths vst pluins. the DAW is just a studio to lay out all the pattens and samples and automation. you can make tracks in all of the moden up to date DAW's and they all have the same quality sound (its a myth that some sound better or worse than others) you can do pretty much the same things in all of them in one way or another for producing music, and some have other features for plying live sets and making music on the fly, but thats a diffrent story. for "producing" music...they can all do and sound the same. like midnight sun has already said, its which one you find easyest to work with, i use flstudio 10 which i love, but have also worked with ableton live too, which is also great. |

any daw. you just need the vibe.
many psytrance producers use cubase, because they started producing long time ago...., way before things like dubstep and trap.
and at that time, daws live ableton were a little buggy.
cubase is a solid daw.. since I remember. |

Just to let you know, there are technologies other than VST for plugins
Instrument - most DAW's come with their own instruments, or you can use a VSTi (Virtual Studio Technology instrument), With these you can convert MIDI notes into a sound signal. So, it act's as an instrument. Typically, you can only place one VSTi in a chain, before this you can place MIDI effects, and after this you can place Audio effects.
Audio effects - DAW's provide you with effects (like a compressor, EQ, filter, delay, reverb, etc.) or you can use a VST. These are used to manipulate an audio signal in some way. Tip: the order you place effects matter.
MIDI effect - usually DAW's come with MIDI effects, and I believe Steinberg has recently introduced MIDI VST's in VST3, but don't take my word for that. These effects can manipulate the MIDI signals (like an Arpeggiator), but not limited just to notes.
The DAW is the host program made to glue these together, to allow you to control the interactions between these components. But they also provide with much more, starting with the audio engine (the software thingy that speaks with your audio card) and defining a typical studio environment, so you'll have stereo channels with stackable effects, a mixer, sends, routings, hardware device interaction, recording and time definition, etc. ton of fun really!
Any technical word you don't know? Please investigate about it!

Yep. Just ask around here! However, you'll have better and more answers if you create a topic for a specific question, so we'll know it's a bass-related question.
Also, please before posting anything about kick + bass, please read this:
http://forum.isratrance.com/the-mother-of-all-basslines-thread/
and this
http://forum.isratrance.com/the-mother-of-all-kick-drums-thread/
And, if you have any doubt, the Bazzism VST and ultrabassmx VST are more than enough for you to have a great sounding bassline!

Well, it is, but the Ableton users haven't kicked in this topic yet.. honestly, a huge amount of people know and use Ableton for one feature or another. It might be just to play they live stems in a concert and they use something else to produce it, it might be used exclusively without any other equipment from start to playing. What matters is that you do your own thing, you just have to figure out what it is!
Have fun!

I work in Ableton and I tried move to cubase and studio one but it was pointless.Live is good enough to make anything you want. The main difference between DAWs is the interface.
Try a few of them and choose one you like most.
