for if you want to get into darkpsy you say....

weird..

Setting a friend or unknown person up with genres and sub-guides... too complicating ..

why not sit him down and show him stuff..
Discuss it instead of this shortening everything into short quick easy access guides..
(it's not like the music is very easy, why want to descibe it easily?)

Before we know it we'll have sayings like;

"Do you want to listen to F.D.S.T." forest dark sub trance

or

"No man, i don't have that cd because i don't like M.F.K.D." mechanikal full killaargh dark
...

Here they come. Thread Jackers. Rude pricks. Critics. Frustrates. People, get a life. I want some information, not your opinion about labeling music.

That's why my Internet activity is constantly going down. Most people are just noise. Nothing to say, really. Just noise.

So, anyone in-the-know who can share some more info about styles of darkpsy?

I AM that friend. And I want THIS sort of information. I don't care about your ways of introducing people into music. I want someone to help me out. Why you people are so stubborn and egocentric?

Dark psy has 2 categories as does all art:

Good

Bad

and both are all about perspective.

I mean fuck, I haven;t done drugs in almost a decade but yet I find Infect insect the most lucid and amazing music I have heard in that decade, whilst most of you think it is shit!

Then when I listen to Derango which most say is "the best darkpsy forest head fuck shit out there" all I hear is a mess of squelchy bullshit that makes me hit stop or skip ASAP!

It's all perspective and personal choice andit comes down to what you think is GOOD or BAD!

So that's it ladies and gentlemen dark psy has to sub-genres:

GOOD

and

BAD

The rest of all your mindles labelling isjust a wast of Isratrance server space
I hate you, you hate me, we are all so hap hap happy!

Sorry that I was harsh. I'm having hard times lately and I really want to learn more about the heavier side of psychedelia. Mutual respect.

It was very informative. Demoniac's guide was also very useful.

I just love stuff like CPC - Subliminal Messages, productions of Dragon and the last two tracks on the Trip Formation compilation. Those productions has stolen my heart

Can someone suggest other artists that have similar "war-drumming", "futuristic battle arena" & "astral swamp of humanity" feeling? I don't know if I'm making myself clear but I was never into dark productions but some recent things are just... astonishing!

As to the styles. Once I've met a guy on a festival and he happened to be a huge fan of heavy psychedelia. He didn't liked all this flat & glitchy darkpsy. Once he mentioned about psycore and it was related to stuff like CPC. I'm not imposing my definition of "psycore" but for me this new stuff that I love I call "psycore". It's far more deep and mind-blowing then most of so-called horrorpsy. For me, this is the definition of "psychedelic hardcore".

I'd suggest

V.A - "Ignis Fatuus" (Tishula)
http://www.saikosounds.com/english/display_release.asp?id=4401

the opening track for this one never fails to amaze me and spin my head no matter how many years have passed!

V.A - "Mushy Mystery" (Trishula)
http://www.saikosounds.com/english/display_release.asp?id=4637

V.A - "Crazy Goblins And Wicked Pixies" (Trishula)
http://www.saikosounds.com/english/display_release.asp?id=5071

Some very classy production and spacey feelings in here...

Also you might like to get:

V.A - "Yuurei Tales" (Triplag)
http://www.saikosounds.com/english/display_release.asp?id=7158           I hate you, you hate me, we are all so hap hap happy!

I find it interesting that most most non-electronica listening people like dark psy straight away...

+1 ... almost everybody I showed psychedelic music loves the fast hard tunes of "dark" psy immediately (even my little sister with 12 years qoute from here about furious: "that's music to fly") but they don't like the melodic morning sound or the "normal" bpm psychedelic sound ... strange
