I dont get why it is such a "sin" to say that something is "crap" in public if you think so.
And I do not see the dark fans stop themself from ridicule other music like House.

i think darkpsy is the target right now because its easy to produce.. you just have to work up a spicy bassline and record the sound your microwave makes when you cook up a living cat and voila..
melodies are harder to make (well, good one's at least)..
that and the scene is overloading with new darkpsy artists that each promote themselves as if they were the next Hallucinogen...

God why do people keep saying that darkpsy is easier to produce? I don't get it, I just don't, everyone who says this has never even given it a shot, I think you will be unpleasantly surprised.
I don't understand why darkpsy is such the scapegoat for all the scene's problems nowadays. I think BAD music exists in ALL genres, and for every poor darkpsy producer I can think of (for my taste there are many) I can think of at least an equally poor full-on and progressive producer. WTF are people suffering from mass denial or what?
For example, remember the minimal psy wave that hit early 2000-2002, you know creamcrop, sub machine, databass, yumade, zma, those kind of releases. Well, I really liked that genre but to be honest I don't think it to be easier or more difficult to produce than any other genre. Why are people becoming so much more uptight nowadays? Where's the love man?
I DARE, no DOUBLE DARE any of you PRODUCERS/MUSICIANS/FAKERS to make a track like Ghreg on Earth or Derango, that should be quite a laugh  |

because unfortunatly, there are flagrantly MORE darkpsy producers out there at the moment and alot of it is bad..
yes, there are bad producers in all genres, but there aren't 100 bad labels releasing only those bad artists in the other styles like in the darkpsy scene..
that's why the spotlight is on them now-a-days..

Ok now I think you're talking out of your ass, please let's count how many dark labels vs other psy labels there are, and how many released artists there are. Taste aside, I think you're deluding yourself if you think that there are more darkpsy artists than fullon or prog.
Techtrance no doubt, but I love techtrance, so we can both agree that the point is mute |

The author of this topic has a point. From now on, let's just say that "most darkpsy is crap" to be a little more realistic.
Don't get me wrong - I LOVE some of it, but the quality control is consistently the worst in the current market, and arguably one of the worst (if not THE worst) in the history of the genre.

I agree with basilisk, that's why I usually pre-listen all dark releases that I buy, except maybe one compilation from Auraquake Records, because I really trust them.

Interested in going to the promotional section of this website and see on the first page how many releases belong to what you call 'dark psy' and how many releases belong to everything else?
I would do it alone but when i started checking whats going on i noticed my screen filled with things like Dark Prisma,Black Project,Baphomet Engine,Killers Only etc etc and got a headache so stopped the whole thing in the first minute.

I hate this shit about dark vs the rest. It is shit nothing else. If you do not like don't support it. But it is insane all this crying, sobbing and insulting. It is so destructive. |
