I assume you are asking me, Zero. Well, I'm sure not everyone would agree with me, but I find most of Xenomorph's music to be very dark. Pretty much anything Matutero does is dark. CPC, Fractal Cowboys, Jahbo, Mussy Moody, Mubali, Paranoize, Claw, Azax Syndrom, Dejan, Ghreg on Earth, Para Halu... I mean, there are many, many artists that make very dark music. I don't want to peg any of these artists as ONLY making dark music. I know they are multi talented and are capable of many things, but those are the first names that come to mind. |

I agree with you on this. I used to listen to a lot of this kind of metal and I never really thought it was dark. Just really aggressive.
Eran, the bpm varies a lot but I guess most of them use between 145 and 149 bpm. Personally, I never produce above 149, but I have heard some stuff in the 150's. I think if it goes any faster than that it starts to sound less like psy and more like gabber, which to me is not a good thing. Xenomorph has been known to make some stuff in the 130's which to me sounds really cool, but most DJ's (that like the dark stuff) don't want to spin tracks that slow anymore. I used to make stuff around 140 and a DJ asked me to make my stuff faster because he can't use it. So I started to work at around 147 or 148 and honestly I do like it better. But I still don't mind dancing to stuff at 140. |

um.....the dude decribign dark acts....
i havnt heard any of those, but i do have this one compilation which i consider to be fucking dark,.,,... just cant remeber what it is called..i will get back to you on that..but um
Derango maybe, Penta for sure, Psy 666 ..um..(think i just made up the last one , but i know their is some 666 artist who is dark) fuck i duno, ask asher skazi

Yeah, I forgot to include Derango and Penta. As for the third one, I think you are talking about Psyfactor. He has a track called "666". |

Since my name was mentioned.... I don't really think that my music is very dark... Aggressive, twisted... yes, but not neccesarily dark... Penta's music is very driving, and aggressive, but I wouldn't call it dark either... Honestly it's really difficult to find really really dark stuff. I do think that some of what Zik makes is truely the dark scary stuff, but the scariest stuff I have ever heard is made by Astrix....
Xenomorph makes very spooky music with a lot of darker overtones, he would be one artist that I feel really makes the dark stuff and the rest of us make really intense psychedelic stuff that borders the dark and light area...

Xenemorph's "Qilippoth' was intensely scary for me..
Some tracks by Baphomet Engine have sounded creepy too..

realy good dark music comes from subtile emotions. trax which punch the fist into your face saying: "listen i am a very dark track, listen how dark i am!" are not very good in most cases.
realy good dark tunes have the black-side behind the corner, the deep emotions are latent and not visible, but its there  - this tunes are from an art which nearly gots lost in our plastic-psysound-age of this days. i know a lot of people sharing my opinion.

You hit the nail on the head there man, finally someone has said it!! I generally don't listen to a lot of dark stuff, but i remember listening to a few dj sets at last years Voov, and hearing some pounding, dark, techy tunes that sounded very German to me and were simply mindblowing.
Most Russian acts sound to me just what you described, they may have lots of twisted supposedly scary sounds, but there is no emotion, it sounds just like noise, where is the darkness???
But, then again, one man's garbage is another one's treasure, lots of people like these acts, so there must be something to their music that i just do not see. |

i remember clearly: it was Halloween party
and they invited Kluster.
His muziek was so dark n hard that it was difficult to stay on the dancefloor
so we just hung around the hall..

I think there it is a mistake to label some music dark, when it trully is powerful, hard and psychedelic.
I like this music since Semsis and Menis. Really hard sounds, with huge soundscapes and psychedelic tweaks.
I think this music is sometimes dark, but sometimes i feel it is night powerful music. |
