Greetings folks.
Been increasingly addicted to this more sinister style of ambient now. Im sure most of you must have heard V.a Skydivers from Dropout.
Could you recommend some more artists on those lines of Paraclaw - chill in the dark ?
All your recommendations/suggestions would be welcome.

I don't have any recommendation but a tip for further searching: This is really not Dark Ambient. Ambient is mostly beatless.
I'd rather call this something like Dark/Death Electronic/Chillout. Maybe that helps.           http://enjoys.it

i'm not entirely sure how dark you like it but if you like stuff like nordic minimal stuff like biosphere then you might enjoy the new spatialize & ishq dark minimal ambient collaboration called 'experiments in silence' which is being recorded in a quiet corner of cornwall, uk as we speak. will hopefully be out on Virtual sometime next year if we can pull our fingers out of our respective ambient arses.

the project so far (we've only properly finished one track but there's lots of material building up) is working like this.... i go round to matt hillier's rather lovely studio full of great hardware gear. we throw audio around like mud at a wall. I then take it home and try to make some arrangement sense of it in my less hardware, software based studio (with huge fekin speakers). i email the results to matt and then he adds more material which i then feed back into the mix. the rule of 'experiments in slience' it is that the music must be developed, arranged, produced and mixed down in just a couple of sessions. because we both love the spontaneous, raw, not-overly-produced sound.

no links or audio samples just yet. but i'll probably post here when/if we sort out a myspace page etc...

shotgun...life's ups and downs swallowed up a good couple of music years but now there's more spatialize material on my hard drive than i can shake a stick at! i'm liking it and hopefully it'll go out into the world at some point relatively soon.
