im listening to dark ambient for a long long time.for me "chill out" means horroristic ambient..i dont know if its good or bad, actually i dont really care about it:) maybe im too evil who knows..
so
i wd like to recommend some artists from the dark side and share my personal taste
also waiting for more music to test them;)

here they are:

Bad Sector
Cyclotimia
Atrium Carceri(also known as Krusseldorf who released an album now called Smokers language, very different project and strange:)
Cold Fusion
Deutsch Nepal
Forest Silence(Hungarian metal band making ambient too)
Neuntoter Der Plage
Northaunt
Do shaska
Lunar abyss
Vidna obmana
Robert Rich

these guys are my very favourite artists but for sure there are much more i like
so
share your evil sounds with me and my twin brother in my brain to enjoy them;)

plz dont post psychill and similar stuff this topik is for the darkness only or i will kill you !

and all your friends

agree with Lustmord heeh

Lustmord's sound investigations are exquisitely crafted manifestations of horror that balance sublime sound references with the body's natural queasiness about ultra-low frequencies (infrasound -- frequencies below 20 hz -- has been known to cause vomiting, permanent hearing loss, and even death). Lustmord has extracted the eeriness from field recordings made in crypts, caves, and slaughterhouses, and combined it with occasional ritualistic incantations and the haunting wail of Tibetan horns.           http://hauntedcastle.tk http://soundcloud.com/hauntedcastle

You might check out Threnody For Humanity by-Peter Gilmore, its pretty dark..he used to be a high priest for the church of satan, so he's pretty hardcore and the chill he does is pretty creepy.           Lobogistic labs

I find Harold Budd not so dark but very moody. Totally underated artist i reckon.           (`*•.¸(`*•.¸ ¸.•*´)¸.•*´)

Harold Budd is GREAT.

I'd also recommend False Mirror on DataObscura. His latest album "Chronostatic Scenes" is amazing. Definitely check out the track "Drifting Towards Zero" on that album. Quality dark ambient.

Saul Stokes can go dark from time to time; but his music covers a lot of grounds and doesn't pigeon-hole into only one area of the ambient spectrum.
