Seems to me that "old" introspective Prog trance is more like dancing now. Producers surely had been influenced by "electro" n house. How do u feel about it?Do u think is better as it used to be,more like travelling inside yourself or more like "shaking" as it took this way now? Can be both? Can a Dj mix some Prog house, Prog trance and "Electro"?
Wat do u think?

never thought of 85% of progressive, really progressive, i think the right word is trhouse....
most of them are nothing but poor worked trance, or house samples builded like trance....
if it was a real progressive mind behind it... but most cases there isnt... the most cases are in fact more house/fullon.... because there isnt a change beetween the beggining of a track and the end of it.

goa is already, but i think that if psy died someday, i'll go listen to gabba or speedcore

just my thoughts on most of the modern darkpsy and full-on, but of course there are still some really good producers of this genre, who are able to break barriers.
But they are hard to find.

This is the beauty of biodiversity, i see it tottaly the opposite way.

I think psy has become tottaly dull, and predictable, and has way too much distractions to the real substance of dance music, used to like it some 5 or 6 years ago.

Nowadays I find progressive much more smart, clean, straight to the point, hard to produce, and inovative.
To me progressive is the "less is more" clichet.
Never boring, or agressive, its just the smart way to manage silence.

As for the "electro" influencies they are there, sure, more and more, but then again fusion is the one of the ways to evolve from where you are now to something diferent, it has always been like this, even with rock bands.
Full-on has become darker, and progressive has become more housy and eletrcoish.

and the beat goes on...

Theres 1 thing i know very well....nobody can stand at a 5 days festival listenning only fullon. Sure prog its not so psychedelic is much more introspective, dont think its poor of anything, just a different propose. But the world still seeking those 145 "killer" trax, isnt? Wat i know is that fullon is getting very far from the "psychedelic" term n more n more dark. Is it prog the "underground" remainascence of psychedelic trance???

Actually, some of the most psychedelic trance I've ever heard was proggy stuff. Like Vibrasphere's "Purple Floating"..Prog? yes. Trippy as all hell? Yes. Fucking great? Of course. And alot of the psychill lately, esp. the new Solar Fields takes my mind on some amazing journeys.

Well you got a point there, as for my personal experience, i mostly go to progressive parties here in Lisbon, and yeah, most people if not all, i used to see in psy parties some years ago, and dont go to regular psy parties anymore like myself.
Here in Portugal promoters are too strict, if its a psy partie, there is no way any progressive will be in the line-up, and since the sound evolved to a much more darker ambiences, most of the people i know run away from that kind of agressive environments.
But younger people seem to like it.
Now when i go to a regular psy party, first I dont recognize anyone anymore, and second there are a lot of young people, that just want more power and energy in the music, wich is sort of natural I guess...
Lets just hope they grow up to enjoy progressive...

Yes i Žd say that n dont come with that talk "ohhh u shouldnt classified sooo much, just feel it" heheheh my rational side tells me that be4 i pick the musics to play, after that, right just FEEEEL IT N LET IT FLOOOOW!!!

and i think thats the thing missing in prog, experimentation...
and with a bit of creativity you can turn a music in a pure journey. look at soul surfer's "surfers paradise" he joined a little sea brease in it and everytime i ear it i feel i'm on an island somewhere and the tracks are not all the same...and not the same rithm all the way. is it not what it makes fullon? speeding from end to end with 2/3 points of real journey? i think most progressive also follows that trend, it begins slow stay slow and ends slow. one etherial sound here another keypad there...
i saw jaia at the voov last year and it was great it doesnt lack the psy factor on it and also the guy doesnt have to go on 160 speeding to do it. but things like fog and greed sound to much the same.

vox if you like squaremeat try to hear also x-vida and papersquad if you haven't yet

now this is a joke right?
then why there are so many genres and subgenres?

oh,and i have many greed tracks with a quite trippy atmosphere-but maybe thats my opinion because WE create the trip, music is just sound.

i bet you can trip on a naked 4/4 beat!
