"yeah but the production is so phat"

Is it really, sounds like regular fullon but even lamer, no standout leads that overwelms you, no suprises, just lame lyrics that shouldn´t been written in the first place and some synths that plays in the background but don´t really fill a function in the soundscape.

aww come on mate... all you had to do at Soulclipse was watch the progression from the regular acts through Sub6 to Domestic to Infected and the sound just got better. HUGE sound... MASSIVE sound... just the loudest, clearest, phattest noises. Musically its VERY dubious and on a stereo at home i think its overdone and pretty shallow, but, on a big system, these guys sound like you've plugged in a different soundsystem just for them... its unreal.

But that's what money buys you. Bigger better compressors, better mastering studios etc etc

I have heard of 'big names' in the rock world having it written into their performance contract that every other artist on the stage on the night, must have the sound system turned down by 6db so that when the 'main' act comes on, they sound that much better than everyone else...

if this is happening in our 'scene' then it just goes to show that the culprits are not with us anymore.

I thought about writing about Dali here and it took me some time, the Israeli trance scene has been reaching new steps of commercialism by the lead of types like Skazi who are trying to combine the concept of a pop/rock star and especially an emphasisim on the appearance and the performance... you can see it by the cover of this album which is as said here very similar to every other teen popstar on MTV and the whole idiolism towards an artist... furthermore I heard some of the tracks and I agree with the rest of the remarks here and many I hear people conversations. I think some of the reasons which attrackted me the most in this scene is the fact that it is an opposition to the mainstream music culture, it emphesises the music itself and not the appearance, it emphesises the ability of artists to explore and expand their ways to express themselves and be able to be creative without having to think about how way they look. offcourse with the massive success of psytrance the ompitition is high and therefore artists have a more difficult chance to be exposed but the real essence of this whole shananigens - the music itself has seem to be forgotten. YES sound is important and I also love to hear high quality music but never on the acount of creativity and original soundz which always seems to be left behind and for me are the most important factor of evaluating the music. so honestly I doubt it if this music was created by an ugly guy or even an ugly girl it would have gotten this kind of exposer which in the Israeli press is being pumped by an obviously well planned gimmick. I also object the whole abuse of the slogen GIRL POWER which also lost its meaning, the real power is not using your appearance but showing your true abilities as an artist, and actually getting an advantage over other trance artists which is based by such factors is nothing to be proud of on the contrary. also the whole sexappeal factor is exactly what women in the rave scene and in particular the trance scene liked about it, these parties has always been an alternative for the club scene and pub scene which made the oppertunity for girls to dance and get crazy in the way they want and still feel secure so by bringing this factor in to this scene it is making it just another musical meat market that objectifies people... it also affects male artists offcourse that work extremely hard on their music and might by not having c cup boobs and nice ass dont get recognition for thei effort, so basically both sides are being offended here...

so yes I agree with Yuli by saying that she can do a lot better and I hope she will come to her senses and make her music speak and be judged like every other.           "Hypnoza" 106fm (TLV) - Sunday's @ 20:00

it seems to me that you should take the word 'psychedelic' off the Isratrance home page. Then u can promote this kind of music here without fear of people getting angry. I'm sorry Hommega, ignore the fact that i work for twisted... this is from me personally, you guys (and girls) belong in the Ministry of Sound.

Sub6 and Domestic have their moments (now sub6 have lost that awful MC). You guys have totally lost your roots... there was a time when i would have loyally flocked to see any gig by Infected... you were up there with Posford in my eyes. But lets face it... you've forgotten where you've come from and you're going in a different direction to the people that make this scene good. You're 'playing the game' that psy-trance tried to escape from... you've lost all deeper meaning... "yeah but the production is so phat" ... i totally agree... but you have no SOUL.

Dali, you seem very sweet... a talented musician and performer no doubt. As you all are... i think you all need to take some time off... go and get fucked up at a party and have a really good think about whats going on.

I might live to regret posting this but to be honest.. its been on my chest for a long time...

I miss you guys... come back to the light...

thank you...thank you so much for this reply...it's so rare that I find someone who shares my view in such an identical manner...same goes for what Yuli said and pinkE had an awesome reply as well...

it's been impossible for me to find any new good music coming out of Israel...even if I do find something there's always that little splinter in every track that just says..."lets make this track MTV acceptable"...I guess I've just given up on most Israeli labels (hands down to exceptions) and right now there's only a handfull of labels that still make me connected to this scene...and I'm extremly happy to be part of one of these...I used to get promos from you guys, was so excited every time I got something, now I just don't freaking care, I don't care when I know that each track on each release is gonna be tailored towards "the MTV generation"

if Dali is supposed to be one of the female artists that try to promote music instead of flesh then why is the cover made like it is? Why is there a need to post her photos around instead of the latest mix she made or something similar...

I'm sorry if I offended anyone but this is my opinion and it's been like this for quite a while, I'm not typing out of spite...I've felt this for a long while and I feel it's only getting worse

For record I’m not here to protect anybody, but I think an interesting issue has been brought forth, mainly by damion with his review of the new Dali-Hectic release and paradoxically enough, the kind of exposure it creates as anti-propaganda.

Do you remember when punk was about Cid Vicious? Or when Ska was actually music for skinheads? How about when hip hop was about the grassroots movement it conveyed and not about bling bling? The dynamics of culture vs. sub-culture and even-counter-culture have one inevitable progression. When psychedelic trance starts getting big and recognized globally, it gets assimilated by the whole of popular culture inevitably. What started as anti-popular, anti-this and anti-that is what culture thrives on, and feeds on… new trends. Psychedelic trance is a trend on the highway to success as we speak in the next 5-9 years, mark my words - the countdown has started.

Dali is simply another peon in that movement, and if it hadn’t been her, it would have been the girl standing in the back. So yeah, let’s rile it up, let’s be pissed be off… but if you really want to blame someone then point your finger at the “ching-ching”… cash register.
If people don’t support the artists that truly matter to them and the people behind the music, it is these folks that will be calling the shots. Who? The ones that actually buy the music, and go see live shows, the ones that travel half a continent to a festival…they are shaping the future of our movement with their wallets, and if HOMmega does not deliver, BNE will and so on. I think its funny people mention “psy trance is getting too commercial."

Hello!? Where you been for the last three years? Get with the program, it already means big money or otherwise this kind of overt fussion with popular music wouldn’t happen. So yeah let’s blame Dali. Fact of the matter is, the album is gonna sell like hot cakes and all we can do is blame ourselves for the inevitable direction this scene is taking… We’re going mainstream. This paradoxically enough means we did our job right and OM is getting sucked up by the Mtv sign. In the meantime to hell with it, there are other kinds of "psychedelic trance" and those are the ones I’m rooting for.

Agreed 100%. I wasn't at soulclipse but i've seen and noticed the same thing on other festivals.
Something that I just thought of..Shouldn't the "psychedelic" artists (that DON'T produce this kiddy full-on) just put some more volume on the mixer to get as much volume? Of course there is some mastering and stuff involved, but still

iv only heard two tracks and theyr simply disgusting. I mean how do you categorize this music....its commercial but crap commercial .... this album does not belong to psy and shame on hommega which has artists who rock like XI to release this absolute rubbish....the chemical crew is commercial but good commercial and still psy.
Only heaven knows what the hell this album is.

Well, I haven't heard the music- not my kind of stuff.

However, I enjoyed reading the posts from Yuli, Si B & PinkE and I totally agree with them. It's also nice to see here people that can pass criticism without wanting to bash and hurt others.

I also enjoyed Rah posts. It's been a long time since I realized that what is considered as trance has gone on a totally different path then then one I'm going on.

I am happy to report that I'm not alone on this path- in fact, there are quite a lot of people on it. Seems most of them don't spend time in this forum. What to do. The parties are still there and I believe always will be- I just know too many ppl that will make one if the couldn't find one for enough time           ---------------------------------------------
