Could somebody explain the trance idea?

I am into electronic soundS from 95 i think and a musician since i was borned.
I ve been to many,local parties,not as many as most of u have been.
Well,i think nobody really understands anything about the music,they only care about drugs and the feel that comes with drugs and music,
not the way in early 70's hippies used 2 do,finding new friends,talking about politics,poor ppl,help others etc...
Most of the hippies ppl were killed by heroin like its coming to be these dayz,all forced by goverment headz.
That happens nowdays too.
These days the new age trancer is a rich guy
who can afford the 35e of a party and the 30 for 2 e's or mdma.
He doesnt buy cds cause Nobody sees him buying and he cant communicate with others cause the drug system exists into trance scene 2.
So is that the trance coulture?
What about knowledge,mystical issues and stuff like that?
I personally think that its all about self improovment and parrents money show that fucked up the thing,
The true remaining trancers nowdays maybe the artists and some others that prefer not to go outside cause of the situation.

The drug problem is a problem existing from the begining of this scene.It isn't only a nowdays problem.Furthermore it is somehow strange to concider this a "trance scene" problem.Concidering that at least 1.000.000 ppl in our country use or try drugs then you can come up with a conclusion that 0,1% is the percentage of the drug problem regarding the trance scene.
I also want to remind you that clubs like acid for examble in thessaloniki used to have 5000 drs admission on 1996-97.after 9 years it is a natural development to have double price (i am talking for eternal motion's parties) especialy when you have the option to arrange your financials in order to attend a 1 per month very big party with 2 stages and 6-7-8 guests.Other parties are taking place with 25,20 euro entrance as well so i guess that you don't have to be rich to go to a party.Plenty of options are available.
It is true that the "trance culture" has changed.Now days trancers are more in to "blast off" mood rather than a psychedelic one.This happened when plenty of artists developed new styles , based their music on fat beats and took advantage of the benefits that new technologies provided.This allowed trance to be hosted in clubs and music stages and to become more acceptable from plenty of other ppl,who till then,where
somehow afraid to attend trance parties.
On the other hand even more "club trance" is available nowdays with the so called progressive ,psy groove style.
To conclude.Trance nowdays is giving you plenty of options.You can feel the old vibes by attending a big international summer festival.You can attend progressive parties with realy cool crowd and music.You can attend a massive event with blasting ,sweating,energy.I.M.O trance has become very big worldwide.It is a natural outcome this development.Ofcourse ppl are changing as well.Same for their attidude.Some of them spiritual,some of them progressive and more kinky,some agressive etc etc.

I know what it feels like...it happens to me sometimes also...
when I see some burned young people who don't feel anything
But inside these parties I also met a lot of guys who believe in trance try to do their part to support the scene allways with a happy smile,they spread good vibes and they have intresting thoughts inside their heads to share

the people changed also
Ana3imandros you told us about the 70's hippies who cared about nature,others people pain and they wanted something better for this world
In the year of 2005 where can you find such people?
In the elitistic clubs wearing their super fashion expensive clothes?
In the bouzoukia where they spend 1000euros in one night?
Or maybe you can catch them when they recording Kalomoiras live concept holding up in the sky their mobile phone
...but I met some of them trancing under peaceful sunrises...

I was watching e very interesting documentary
last night on NET tv, that actualy was answering this question of yours.
90% of such revolutionary,anticonformistic movements,were completely "drawned" by heroin...Another bright example,a guide for all of us to think and most of all ACT.

the trance idea is::: Gathering of the tribes!
unity&respect&harmony&balance&love&peace
&the realization that we are all one Great Spirit communicating with trance vibrations..
I realise that this idea is difficult to be obtained by everyday city ppl, who have luck of the knowledge of the shaman ways, but, plz...

wicca , there are 2 reasons drugs or music ,, shaman or pagan is something that is related to trance but is it related to drugs, thats the qeustion .or is it that drugs opens your mind to that, to see religion , satinism , hindu. pagan ////this music is to be as one ,that means to open your mind with out drugs and know your level in life ,,, if drugs open you play your life ....trance is spiritual . |

moonsun you posted some true and respectful ideas and i can only agree with wat u say
music is the number one drug" lets say, can rise your kundalini to max, without any other chemical substances...now,people differ from one another, some need the help of music only, and some need something more...is not just by luck that drugs are so close related to music, they are both made for the same purpose, to make people feel happy and free...there always has been a close connection between them...trance is indeed spiritual and ritual and whoever uses drugs, must use them in this way.. to avoid "the playin of life" as you said...
the trance idea is freedom & unity & spiritual way of life & quality &balance-harmony with the mother nature..and there is the beleif..of the magical xperience that a ritual use of any can offer you..this is the trance idea, the magick idea ..now i dont understand how religion ivolved in the trance idea, if u mean, open ur mind and excite you in learning religious matters, yes, u r right, both drugs and music do that..when u have nice positive feeling, lots of things u can create, artists kno that..\...trance idea is a state of mind.../

And who are todays hippies man ? We are living in a new world, that's for sure, but who claims to be a hippy nowadays ? I'm getting so irritated with the marketing of modern trance/dance music. I remember when trance started in athens a new fashion stream started to begin with strange haircuts and colorfull dresscode, parties till the early morning hours and after hours with fluo deco and sticks giving a nice smell with clean and happy spirit.
ravers used to say "listen to the future".
When ALSOS pedion areos with sunrise started trance parties goaters where more in spiritual idea as the deco in main stage planetarium remember an indian totem in the center of the stage and native tribe indians at the walls...the samanic ritual party way ,I met people who where talking to me about prophecies that spoken from goa for our tribe,or even about IO (IO=the spirit who takes our souls for trip)dancers where calling loud as they where dance IIIIIOO like nowdays we hear dancers screaming from the ecstacy feeling.love peace unity and respect to nature was and is the basic idea no matter if some of us dont respect that.
My buddy an3imandros search for celestine prophecy
mabye you would find a sacred relation with trance idea!
