x-comp is cool too ,with the blend feature/make up gain interaction it open lot of sound shaping option.
i think it s a port by algorythmix of their comp that cost a arm and a legg, a striped down version .
on some source i like how it saturate with fast release too..but it can be a problem if you want fast release and clean sound, this comp get nasty distortion easily under 30 ms release .
but when squashing and used creativly it can sound dirty/lofi in a nice way ..on some drums loops for example,as a effect. |
