tbh most good native plugs give uad comps a run for they money, waves ,ubk1 ,ssl duende, psp mastercomp,old timer..the list is very long.
about the cl serie never used them but they are suposed to be great comps |

true, but what makes UAD better is that they run on there own processors, therefor greater yeld?

I am down to 4 compressors after doing extensive tests with them in inserts chains, doing the same amount of gain reduction at the same peak level.
The ones I really like after demoing them.
Sonnox Dynamics
Waves API 2500
Waves CLA 76 (Blue for Vox, Black for anything else)
Waves SSL Buss Compressor
Waves Kramer PIE
Soft Tube CL 1B
Soft Tube FET
and the good ol' Logic Compressor.
Having said that all that, I only have Sonnox Dynamics and Logic compressor, which get the job done nicely. Although I would not mind having them Soft Tube plugs as they have bags of character, as does the Kramer PIE...but they are expensive...

yeah api got my vote these got the same sort of dynamic "sympathy" for the analogue gear
but theses arts accoustic got some really fucking mean features
seperate comp for mid and side both with sidechaing and the top end is crisp and warm
got to be the only software comp that added something to the xoxbox..... imo

thats why i sed about the beast for the fact of it got the M/S sidechaining,, could really clean up sum sounds with that...in the unique way

one or 2 flexible comps and a few good saturators can cover a lot imo, i like the elysia alpha personally it s one of my fav comp for buss but it s on clean side.
i havent tried the cl serie but i a/bed them to my distressor in a kvr thread with some sample and cl serie is good for sure |

distressor is a hardware compressor , they were abing lot of plugs to cl serie in a kvr thread, so i tried to use my distressor and imo it was better/different than all the plugs .
sometimes and often not at pumping better and groove ,their plugs are good but with harmonics coloration and depth it s where there is some difference
to come back to the topic its where i have heard the cl serie and it seems like some great comps but expensive ! |

im a fan of brainworx...bcontol(imager, m/s matrix)) always gets a spanking from me, didnt no about vertigo until now tho.
havin red doesnt offer the sidechaing of the mids n sided tho, which is what is appealing to me rite now, as that abilty can open up alot of rule breaking possibilities
