A lot to process I will check out some recommendations posted here... Silicon sound seems to have a fanbase! Thanks everyone!

Some groups came up which I do have some info on... check these tracks out -

Exaile - Radio Edit (big and cheezy in some ways, but its good at times) also try Funky, Boost, and I Want Freedom (btw these are the only guys I (somewhat) like from chemical crew!)

Azax Syndrom - South of Hell (evil goodness from seraphana recs) don't know of any others though I do like this one...

Cydonia - Funky Monkey (last best Dino Psaras creation imho)
Tortured Brain - Metallic (if you want a wicked old piece from Dino)
Dino was a dark light in 98/99 with those incredible beats he composed... I agree he lost the plot a little, as nothing is quite as convincing as the heavy rhythms on Fear of a Red Planet and the Semsis album where he helped out...

Remember this ain't just an overrated/underrated topic - here we should find the good tracks from the guys who create so much... in fact, since Neuromotor was mentioned - what are their real highlights? I know with all those tracks made there's going to be a few that stand-out...

silicon sound is really nice, enough said. I think Violet Vision are really important. both their albums are really nice.
parasense only song I like ritual of drugz which is an insane song.

I just seem not bein able to like the real dark side of psyttrance. Ill check the recommendations here but only dark track and artist I like is penta - in the night in the dark           `Bottomless wonders spring from simple rules, which are repeated without end` Mandelbrot

Overrated: Azax Syndrome
With the exception of track 4 off the album (which is silly fun), I don't find them dark, twisted or however else they're described.

dude, Azax has some awesome tracks...

I really like Shinjitzu, Nightmare, South of Hell, the track with Winter Demon - Black Zodiac

definately twisted tracks all of those

Neuromotor is incredible, some of his new tracks are just insane... So pumping and aggressive... Dance or Die and Bloody Rage are really great. All I have to say is see Neuromotor live or dj set, he will have you begging for more...

Artists who still have to 'Step up'.

1. Earthling.

I've always really liked Earthlings work. The patterns album is one you can listen all the way through. I won't say it doesn't carry the same sound as everyone else, but there is just something different about it. His arrangments are a bit more complex, and he's got his own twist to those bleeps and zaps commonly heard. Kinda feels like a recreation of 'Cryptic Crunch' at times. I suggest listening to the album again all the way through.

ok neuromotor,
try:
Neuromotor - Valentino walks on the moon.
Neuromotor - Black Planet.

i think what sets neuromotor apart from many others is his "presence" on stage. whether its a dj set or live, fred can carry a crowd on a mental trip only a few can survive and then talk about later. his sets have been described as invading, violating and sexually charged... this is all very true and his connection is very intimate and raw with the crowd. on an avg dj set fred would not play with under 3cdj's, sometimes even 4. he plays his own music, or music only from his label...
basically take any neuromotor track u know and recognize and throw that memory into the garbage... he plays all 3-4 cdj's at the same time so nothing sounds like it use to. i can only describe his dj sets (which may last 12hours+) as religious experience, nothing less. to top it off, his humor shines through with funny never to be released remixes like "funky town" that make you realize to take life lightly...

You sure this isn't the 'funky town' that Loopus in Fabula released on his latest cd?

Neuromotor- His best album was his first one Neurodamage... Very powerful sound and Fuck the Israeli Dat Mafia Trance XPress was one of the most pissed off tracks that I had heard... So powerful. But Fred is now more of a lover than a fighter, and his music has gone that way... But say what you want about his music, his live or dj sets are just amazing!!!

Earthling- I do beleive that he is a bit overrated. I saw him play not too long ago and I Couldn't dance to his set whatsoever...

Azax Syndrom- His older unreleased stuff was incredible, but his recent tracks (post Nightmare) have been sounding a bit more formulaic and not quite as edgy as it used to be. I was rather disappointed by the split album and it's taken a lot to get me to even listen to Psychotic Micro again because of it...

Overrated: Alien Project ( I never really got the real big buzz about him. I have seen him play and I think the best stuff he did was with Absolum)

GMS- I used to think that they were the best since sliced bread.... This is right before they launched Spun Records. I feel that their innovative days died a long time ago, shortly after they stopped releasing any music on 3D Vision and now they are beating a long dead horse.

Psychotic Micro- Man... I really liked these guys too when they first came out, but right about the time when their split album with Azax Syndrom came out, is when it died for me. I feel that they have gotten a little more forumlaic as well as not quite as intense as they used to be. Music with more muscle????

Someone had mentioned that they felt Hux Flux was overrated.... The Cryptic Crunch album was and still is IMHO one of the best albums that couldn't be classified into either dark or light. It was very crunchy, with whimisical parts in it. But one of my alltime favorites by Hux Flux is Idiot.

Underrated Artists: Grapes of Wrath... I love their unique sounds and their refusal to follow rules to music production. They stretch the realms of psychedelia to me and they deserve to be accepted all over IMO.

In my opinion, AKD is the most underrated artist out there, can't wait for anything new by him.           Load Universe into Cannon. Aim at Brain. Fire.

Out of that list I only rank Violet Vision and Haldolium pretty high...Rest is nothing special in my book.

I liked Haldolium a lot after hearing the Emou side project (album: Still, Pretty Good Year). Then the faster stuff started to fall together. Maybe try that.

Violet Vision, 'Fingering Nuns on Mars', 'Gray Matter' and 'Get You Closer' are superb tracks imo.

Underrated artists in my opinion: Weird Alchemy, Benza, Psypilot and Possible Apple.
