there is something new going very popular now, and it's not very good.

too many artists, like Atomic Pulse, Sesto Sento, GMS & MORE. are concentrating mainly on the bassline in a track
too much!!
when i'm hearing an atomic pulse track i know "now i will hear some nice bass melody"

the bassline take such a big part in the tracks, it makes them very danceable but also VERY BORING!

take Hallucinogen for example
do you hear the basslines in his tracks?
not really, but you certinly feel it and there are no words to describe such amazing music..           u can find "Anything U Want" using the search...

it's not happening lately or now man,

it's been happening for the past 2 years.... I'm stunned you haven't noticed that yet.

a bassline drives the track to it's destination. have you ever tried driving a car with no wheels?

i agree with you
[Kick + Bass] is the BASE of the track, it is the rhythm of it, it is almost the main thing in a track.
Kick + Bass is the basis, and you can hear many tracks start to evolve from it...you dont have a track without a bass....

You have bass in his tracks. personally i havent heard a track without a bassline...
example with a bass: Thugs In Tye Dye and more.....
im not a big fan of Hallucinogen, but shpongle is way better (for me) and that project does have basslines in its tracks too (Shpongle - A New Way To Say 'Hooray!')

the bassline leads to NOWHERE

u know even in piano, in some of the musical creations the left hand is the "LI-VUY" (dunno how 2 say that in english)

and the right hand is the main music...

but, without the left hand accompanying the right one, it's left with nothing more than a melody without it's backbone. one thing cannot exist without the other and yet sound the same. i would suggest you take those hallucinogen tracks and give them a good listen.           "We Do Not Allways See Things As They Are. music is a matter of taste, you may like hearing the bass less but others may not.
meet the artists and tell them to lower the bass volume, or stay with what they can offer you

yea misha is right.
for me the bassline is the most important part in the track (its not that the others aren't) and a good bassline just does it for me.           REHAB is for quitters

well, i was waiting for this theard for a long time and i think there is a bigger problem in most of trance artist today seem that they too busy in writing the track and find new sounds and not pay any attention to the mix and production work and its a shame and i dont talk about the qualety of the sound else about puting the sounds in the right place in the right volume, for exemple in the most of the tracks the baseline and the perc. and the kick are very loud in the front center and its sound sucks artists are afride to place thier sound in the front so they place it in the back with low volume this is a real chicken shit!!! take for exemple artist like yuli or bambo forest and there a more few names that have a WONDERFUL work on the mix and the produection every sound is in the right place and they get your ear twisting around to thier sound.
well rest my case here! hope for better master work in the cooming tracks where ever they be.

Hod buddy, for me a good bassline is almost everything, I'm a bassline addict, If I hear a bad bassline in a track, I cannot continue listening to it, If the bass is good everything is good, because a good bassline drives you into a different mood of creation, well at least it is for me.           Be Pleasent.

Good kik and bass combination is crusial for track to b good. So it was with rock'n'roll check out Deep Purple's anthem 'Smoke on the Water' or numerous songs by Led Zeppelin and eventually lets say 'One of these Days' ( the original version offcourse ) by Pink Floyd. All these has wonderful basslines... The thing in trance is that it somehow became almost the ONLY thing which is ( as fat as I am concerned anti - music ) and the main belief behind that is all the full powered crowd only needs the kik and the bass and that is basically enough to keep them moving.. which is true btw

But what about some music in this??

I totally agree with Ozen and also would wish to hear more GROOVE that makes the ppl dance than Kik and bass... + usually the bass is cut of at some 80hz not to disturb the Kik drum and for heaven's the bass cannot be on the 1 ( because the kik is already there ) otherwise we would have to make REAL soundwork with our headzzz...

Sorry for the cynizism... for really groovy basslines tho, u always can check PsySex / PsyCraft and Hallucinogen
