I agree with what aje said completely. This is standard sub-cultural behaviour. Every scene has it's own set of (for the most part) unspoken rules & regulations that you must adhere to in order to get respect / credibility within it. The mix of personalitites within most sub-cultures is quite similar, but the personality types within them function within a different set of rules. If you don't want to have to adhere to rules, don't identify with a particular sub-culture, or at least try not to!

I think people didn't get what i was trying to say.
I was not talking about closed mindedness as in you like music or you don't. I was talking closed mindedness in the way that you can UNDERSTAND THAT SOMEONE LIKES this or that style. It's not about whether or not you like something, it's about how you say it. If you are gonna say, "this is shit, i don't get why anybody would listen to that crap", there's a big difference if you're gonna say "i really don't like this, i find it boring, i find it... whatever". |

this is true my m8.
politness and tolorens to other opinions is requiered more, not only in trance scene issues,
its everywhere in every subject, everything we want to reflect out side no matter in what subject depends on our wording and tone.
small mindedness is a big word, but unfortunatly realistic,,
yea thats sucks.
at list in our small comunity of trancers, and the bigger comunity of party ppl we should understand each other,
we all walk on the ground when we dance lol

yeah riton, you're right. i understood it like this and i fully agree with you of course. close mindness also means to "not have the guts to try out something new". maybe a bit old-fashioned too;) its about refusing new ideas and interpretations. nothing to do with taste...i even could cry out loud that "___" sucks without being close minded.

i think that the music u like depends on your personality .... your way of life ... your past and ur dreams ...
santa claus suxxx because if u had everything u want ur life wouldnt be that interesting and probably you would not like psytrance but just go to any club in london with a bag of cocaine and get all the girls around sniffin the angelsdust on the bar while ur pumping`em in their arse
i dont say that thats bad but the point is that doesnt matter how big fan of trance you are ... the money will change your values :> |

i try not to judje one for what he listens wears or something like that..I dont say (Example) that full on is better than prog, I say i like more full on than prog... I cant stand with people trying to "convert" other people, this is what i see very wrong in this forum and basicly everywhere...share opinions, dont judje or criticise and let everyone chose theyr own way

Why dont we just go back to calling it GOA at least then it didnt have the stupid labels! When you heard a slower bpm then you didnt call it proggressive you just listened to it on another level. Half of the time some people say shit like "I hate vocals in tracks or I hate breakdowns in tracks" and when I play them out I see them dancing there ass off! just goes to show you that some people will say things so that you can get a picture of thier taste. If you asked me what I like I wouldnt know how to describe it... although i might say this - I like tracks with a bassline and a kick that make you want to shake your rumpus.
