Closed-mindedness?

Yes, the hippy movement wasn't very tolerant at all, just another group of people thinking that their way was the right one.
It takes a lot of practice will and knowledge to be openminded, and this is not proprietary to any kind of movement or music style.
Sometimes you will be surprised about some ordinairy people, people you least expected to be so... wise.

I'll tell u an unrelated story, and maybe you will see a connection.
I was in spain on a trip, and i was roomed with a mormon guy, a friend. No drinks, no smoking, and especially no drugs (and no sex lol).
So i was smoking up right, and i needed help. The dude came up to me, asked if i needed help, and with what. I told him the truth, and he said, ill never forget:
"look, i don't support this, but if u really want to, i'll help you out"
So this dude was pretty much holding the bottle in which the smoke was going and just chillin with me.
This guy deserves my respect, and since then, we are closer than ever!
See what im trying to say or am i too high to make sense? |

well i talked with some friend of mind about trance music and i told him i dont like fullon and he said ,you must listen to it more ,but i told him i did and i stoped and then he said men you are closed in your style , open your mind,
he dont understood that i used to hear full on and now i dont that was closed mindness to him.
another time i talked with my friend that only listen to rock stuff like pinkfloyd ,he said the trance music is boring music its all the same , i told him you need to open your mind
that 2 exmples
but if you all are talking about poeple that listen to trance and lets say peole that listen to house and go to clubs ,the trance people will say those poeple dont understand in music that also some cloed mind |

According to this, anyone who says that any music is shit is closeminded. Or anyone that says any music is better than anything else. Or anyone that makes any subjective observation about music. Or about anything. Stupid logic making stuff seem ridiculous.

Yeah people are intolerant of others musical tastes...if you dont like it dont listen to it! simple as that. music is personal opinion as with so many other things, and we are not all going to like the same thing. making degrading remarks just because something sounds good to someones ears and not yours is just ridiculous. they could say the same thing back to you just because you listen to a different kind of music.
