Hi friends ! I was talking to one friend some time ago about the "evolution" of the genres of music. What will be the next type of music that will give us the same(or anothers?) experiences that e-music provide us? There's a limitation in equipment used to make eletronic music today, or the limitation is creativity? I'm saying a big change, not only a new style.

I know it's hard to see the future, but what's your opinion?

Peace...

If you think electronic music is limited nowadays, listen to some IDM.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

I would like to hear more classical music in electronic format. Kinda like Wendy Carlos but with todays technology.... fresher sounds. Maybe at some point people start to remake old masterpeaces from Bach, Beethoven and such.

NHF but that's exactly something that I wouldn't like to hear in the near future...I would like to hear more original stuff and less recycling...I really don't want to guess which music genre is going to progress in the near future, that would take all the fun away, the most fun you can get out of music is watching it evolve, not predicting what's it gonna sound like in 10-20 years...so let's just sit back and enjoy the ride           DJ Dovla | Interchill Records, Flow Records

My reply meant that the limitation is creativity - some of the master producers of the psytrance world said 'yeah, we can create whatever sound we want, we're just lazy'. In the IDM world there's a whole different range of effects and sound tweaks that psytrance artists didn't even begin to explore, as well as a lot of mind-opening music.

Technically, you can create any sound possible on a PC today. You can create any form of music possible. You can do any sonic manipulation possible. It's just a matter of work and creativity.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

i know what ya looking for -shpongled-: u need an instant infusion of domino wig recs - matt elliott - the mess we made ---> genious electronic classic music, and sooooo psychedelic.
also donna regina - northern classic on karaoke kalk recs.

kaz: good stuff you said, but i dont think artists even dont start to explore these unexplained tales of electronic music because they are lazy, i think most of them are just stuck in their old synth presets because they think that only these scratchy sounds with tons of highpass delay will do what they're suppposed to, make ppl think and dance.
and well its true, lets take some albums that made some totally different thing..hm lets say bigwigs with their "fraktalik fraterniti", a masterpiece of 2003 imo. i spoke with quite a few people about this album, one half liked it, the other didnt and why? because its not the same shit as usual.

verdict: most of todays psytrancer even dont want to go one step further.

And I've been listening to IDM since 1996, but this isn't a pissing contest. The big names in IDM each work in their very unique respective styles which can easily be differentiated (try comparing Aphex Twin, Autechre, Brothomstates and Luke Vibert - they use totally different attitudes in their music)... And when is Ulrich Schnauss coming?! WHERE?!           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222
