anchovies maybe... i can eat them forever!

hehe yeah really looking forward to hearing the new style tunes. It doesnt surprise me cos there is no doubt GMS are 2 of the most naturally-talented producers around... and when No Rules came out it was a bit of a change of direction.... (e.g. you could actually tell apart the tunes! hehe)

Well, how was it?!? I'm dying to know; I'm stuck at home all bloody weekend writing reports for primary-school kids, not dancing my ass off at the Fridge. You lucky people... Still, at least we've got Tribe of Frog on Saturday!

it was a really good party! The fridge was packed full of people totally enjoying the music! It felt like a mini Stratford Rex....

To be honest though I got a little bored with the GMS sound after 2 hrs live and 2 hrs DJ set. I went in with a positive approach.... but you know they ended with Mescaline and played a few skazi tunes and of course loads of GMS.... it was all very hard, but very safe really,.... not much new (I mean in the DJ set)..... I was gagging for some progressive!! hehe well I wasnt gonna get it.
Hmm I wanted to return to Fortu and Kristian's DJ sets!!! Hmm perhaps the order of play was a bit dodgy.. having those 4 hrs in a row. But I think GMS insisted on it? And what was the deal with the big net across the stage? It was like in the Blues Brothers when they play in that country and western bar.....

The lighting was awesome! laser, big banks of powerful coloured lights and spotlights.......

At one point this dude whose name i forget played a bongo or whatever for 10 minutes.... I was suspicious beforehand (I was kidding with kristian : 'what the fuck is this gonna be that lasts for 10 minutes before GMS???' hehe) But it was amazing and worked really well in the context...... very powerful....

Anyway all together it was a great success! and the blend of different ppl - psy junkies and fridge magnets (is that the term?) - worked really well!! Lots of ppl apologizing profusely for bumping you as they walked past.....

ok i reckon i missed out some stuff but i gotta go to the rex!! Arrrgh I am totally knackered!!!!!!!! Well you gotta make sacrifices in life I suppose hehe:)

i came, i saw, i had fun

nice to go back to the fridge.. after six years! didn't seem to have changed at all.. even the same crowd it seemed smaller than i remember, probably got too used to the rex i guess..

so, the music.. missed phils set and arrived to hear fortu and he was working the dancefloor nicely, then kristian who whipped it up even further before gms took the stage.. well, nothing particularly special for me to be honest with them.. knew nearly everything in their live act. of course you could argue this is not their fault since everyone canes their music the whole time we are just used to hearing it endlessly.. i dunno but whilst it was professional and highly competent it was nothing special for me. their dj was also not special.. they played mostly old tunes as jon has alluded to above.. i just want a bit of new tweakage sometimes it has to be said they are very very good technically though!
the sound was clear and powerful.. i actually thought it a little too loud.. but then i'm an old man

socially i had an absolute ball with the many different clans of friends and aquaintances that turned out. it was certainly a highly enjoyable party           >>love will tear us apart...<<

i was very surprised by the fridge, lots of good energy and nice crowd (and amazing women )
lots of people i knew, and it was great.

i didnt like the sound to much, but it wasnt bad, kristian gave a great set, quite full-On with lots of new stuff, then we had 4 hours of GMS, i liked the first 2 hours but after that it was too much, i wanted a change...they put some unreleased stuff like spliffpolitics rmx, astrix - kali (rmx) wich is a very good tune, thier dj set wasnt something spacial like tom said.

all in all i had a great time....and would like to thanks all the chichime crew.

yes it was great playing at the fridge, after having gone to my first ever psy party there in 95.
i reckon the sound was killer compared to other psy venues, perhaps around the bar area it wasnt perfect but that is expected as it happens in all venues as that is the area where people chat and buy drinks. playing there as a dj wow what a monitor, and stage.
the crowd was awesome as well.very responsive with everyones sets.and as asi said, the women wow.
i will be looking fowards to playing there again thats for sure.

i am with kristian on the sound... i thought it was pretty good.... certainly much better than the EQ... ok maybe not up to the Rex though.... Maybe it was a bit loud if you stuck your ear next to the speaker though! (only kidding...)

My vote is for more pschedelic parties at the fridge!

This weekend the balcony was definitely a theme for me.... i said in the other thread about the dude who got kicked out of the rex and climbed a building opposite. Well I forgot to say that at the end of Chichime/psygate there was a funny episode where some girl wandered up to me and chatted about the party... then said she'd had a rough night after falling off the balcony. I was thinking 'yeah right you have no idea who you are or what you are doing!' but then she showed me this massive bruise on her arm! Oooops! She seeemed to be ok though... nothing broken (unless she had taken some of the ol PCP and was just struggling on regardless)...

hello all,

for me too it was very special to go back to where I was first blown away by the psy trance parties although in fairness my best memories must be from TyssenSt..
I also thought the sound in the venue was pretty good especially as the sound remained quite punchy no matter where u were in the place.. none of that muddy rumble you get in other places when you're at the back and sides, or even worse for the djs and pAs

Well, for me...

considering that it was mah first psychedelic experience here in London, it was fab! Something i was reallllly really looking forward to! Worked well for me...apart from the few ups and downs GMS took us through. Didn't like the sound too much..thought it didn't do justice to a few banging tunes!! But the Lighting was great.... ppl were really nice...was all over jumpin round!!

Yeap..indeed a great party!!
