i have a feeling that its going to be massive, i wonder what will happend if the regular people that go to the fridge will come to this event !?

I'd imagine they'd probably have a good time...!
Some friends played at Technosis in January at the Fridge which was (at you might expect) a techno event and not your standard hard house/trance Fridge type event. They said everyone semed to be enjoying it - even though the music was different to what people are used to...
And (as you may have picked up on a previous thread) there were regular psychedelic trance events at the Fridge many many moons ago... |

hehe so it's actually Chichime vs GMS i guess.....
well Ill definitely be going along... we have had GMS in london a couple of time over the last year and they are unstoppable on the dancefloor! And at the fridge too! The music there may be a nightmare usually (i mean when it's hard house / whatever), but it is a really great place.....
Hmmm wonder what happened to that rumoured GMS album on shaffel? still very curious about what kind of beast it could be.....

I hope the door men and security are not the same as they were three years back!!
They really do have a sort of mafia going, busting all dealers they see and taking their money and drugs away, under threat. And to keep this bad habit under cover, they evry now and then , get some odd random boy or girl, with little drugs and money on them and call the police to be taken away. Giving the impression that they are helping the law!!!!
I say this, because this happened to me, and i tell you it was not a nice experience. (iwas one of the boys who was used as supposed drug dealer, i was not even selling drugs, alll the contrary i was buying them!!!)
So kristian and anyone with some room to control this possible situation, be cautios ; ) |

I see this thread has died off, incase it is due to the vibes i have splashed out, i would like to say, i have not been to the fridge since 1999, so i take back my words where i refer to the fridge, talking in present tense. I have no clue how the fridge is evolving.
All i know is Kris and co are going to bring light in it.

We are very sorry for what you have experienced at the Fridge several years ago. Before we booked the venue we had been to the Fridge a couple of times to check and I can comfortably say that you will be as comfortable as at the Rex. But again these kinds of incidents are the disadvantage to our scene as I think until drugs will be legal, these things can happen in any other clubs like Rex, SEOne and many others. Anyhow we are putting a lot of effort into this event so I am sure we will all have a great time at the fridge with GMS!!!!! |

Well Mike, isn’t it great that you answered Unno’s concerns about the Fridge… Now, with regard to how the Fridge has evolved, we believe that Unno’s concerns were more to do with security etc, and not with the type of parties that now reside there. There is no venue in London that does psy trance only, e.g. the Rex is putting on a big r'n'b night with lots of MCs next weekend. Equally, e.g. SEOne and Mayfair do mainly Garage and Gay nights respectively. This obviously doesn’t make a psy trance event in any of those venues any less good! The website you linked to your message is not part of our scene, but if we go back several years you would probably advertise Astral Phoenix events on those kinds of websites with your then taste in music and djs. |

Looking in from the outside I am often entertained at quite just how much animosity that anything that Enrico & co (Antiworld) have anything slightly to do with seems to create with certain parts of the London psy-trane scene- but mostly I'm just bemused...

I thought unno was asking a general question regarding the fridge, i don't see any reference to "security" in that post, so i think my link is relevant to that "evolving" fridge question.
It's nothing personal towards Chichime, but IMO the fridge is now a mecca for commercial clubbers, if thats the crowd you are aiming for then best of luck to you, i'm sure it will will be a big success for you and antiworld.
But sorry guys, it's just not for me thanks (even with "GMS!!!!!"). As a member of this forum i should be allowed to express that opinion if i want. Also i fail to see what "Astral Phoenix" or "The Rex" has to do with this thread. |

Seeing as it is just round the corner from my flat, I feel it would be rude and incredibly foolish of me not to go. Anyone up for a chill afterwards then it's not far to go!
I have to admit that after all the good times I had in the Fridge (admitedly a long time ago) it will be nice to go back. And aren't you all forgetting that Return to the Source and Otherworld used to do psy-trance parties in the Fridge Back in '96-'97 |
