2) It's time for them to overhaul their library of samples. This album seems to use a lot of familiar sounds. While not necessarily a bad thing, there's a couple of times snippets sounded as if the song had transitioned over to something off a previous album for a few seconds.

| Kinda true. While there is a lovely flow to the entire thing , parts in the middle sound very similar like either you've heard it before in some other album or from the track before. HG is a masterpiece, WoS a worthy follow up with a different feel altogether and this one i think still deserves some more time before i can say anything concrete that will stick as my final and only impression of this album. At the moment i must say as a die hard fan of their music im not entirely in heaven.

I too, felt like this. But on my 3rd listen now & the second half is utterly amazing whereas the the first half is just great. Really surprised actually as I was expecting something less than this. My initial thoughts were cheesy but they quickly faded into OMG!!!
Wait.....What? |

Here is a little excerpt from my upcoming review
"I have always been wondering if music might have some greater or more significant meaning than just self fulfilling pleasure for the listener. This meaning has finally become clear with the release of Interloper. We are climbing a ladder, a ladder towards higher states of consciousness. Daniel and Johannes has given us a great many steps towards that always abditive goal. "

OK I'm convinced... will purchase my copy in a few days... WoS is the one I've always found most non-psy people enjoy over HPG, but HPG for me just always has had something a little more emotionally spectacular... I'm looking forward to seeing where this one falls in to the CBL series... so far out of the entire Ultimae collection Cell - Hanging Masses is my fav.
I hate you, you hate me, we are all so hap hap happy! |

May I update?
It`s truly fantastic. Brilliant. So much pure light in it. Some tracks you just ask yourself: "what, how is that possible?" |

Hey guys!
Thanks for all the positive feedback!!
Of course, most people who dislike is doesn't bother to post so this thread tend to be over positive, but we don't care, positive feedback is yummy ;D
@ TechMonkey : you have a point. We do tend to overuse some sounds we really love. On one hand it ties our sound together and we don't surprise with a totally new and unfamiliar sound. On the other hand one could wonder if we have any original ideas at all.
Someone also pointed out that Supersede is way to close to Epicentre 2nd movement to be called anything but 3rd movement. To be honest we didn't realize that til that guy pointed it out
At the end of the day we're two guys making music we want to listen to and are really glad and amazed that a lot of people want to listen to it aswell
To sum up, we are really glad the album is finally out, in it's second version for us (first version was finished may 2009) And we will continue to produce CBL as long as we think it's fun, which it still really truly is.
Hope to see you in either London, Hungary, Lithuania or Ukraine this year. (or even more places )
All the best
Daniel - CBL

Dan, are you guys going to possibly release a copy of this combined with the visual presentation you did at cosmonova, sort of like BT did with This Binary Universe? That would be really sick.

I completely understand that it's a balancing act between trying to evolve as not to stagnate and trying not to drift too far from the signature sound that makes you unique. Really there were only a few of those moments. Those tiny little blips aside from the first listen, I've really been enjoying it and am glad to have purchased the CD.
P.S. - You left out USA for this year. |
