You have absolutly right , but i think that to make a festival like this the people have to know what theyīre doing, and most of all know what is necessary, in every cases, if it goes wrong or good, and they only thought it would be great, and would be different, but didnīt thought it would be harder.
Creating a festival itīs a hard job, specially one with 11 days, and the people who create it must have experience in all of the things that are necessary to do it, and i think, experience wasnīt that much.
I believe they tried theire best to make this come true, but maybe this bad happening will make them see that a lot is necessary to make something so big.
  life is short or to long so i can give myself the luxury of living it so bad.

would have been nice if the organizers could have told me that festival was cancelled, only found out thru another dj today !!!!
feel really bad for all who paid for flights for the party and lost cash,

everyone defending Updown? this must be a joke. ask CPU, Black & White and the others what do they think about Updown. CPU lost $5000 this summer (similar thing happened in japan). also ask the shop organizers...
fuck updown... wasted almost all the money i had for summer.
organize a party, wents bad and you run? what about the people's tickets? what about the people who payed to have shops? it's all easy for the internet people to talk... how about the people who went there? |

oh by the way CPU, Black and White and others arrived at portugal with no-one to pick them or pay them. they only knew by phone when they were in portugal. there was an hotel in viseu with lots of DJs in the same situation.
this is no rumor. |

Back home finally, after a big "odissey" in the festival venue. I played Sunday morning after Bamboo Forest and Tikal, i had fun. Not many people present but the vibe was good, then i performed again (Sunday night) a back to back dj set with dj Ivan after Puzzle live act to handle the line up waiting for Ronen and Dede, but all was cool later.
From what i had the chance to listen, Mechanix, Tikal, Bamboo Forest, Puzzle, Spectrum, Perplex, dj Ruod Rik performed very nice.
Monday afternoon, i received a phone call from the promoter telling the festival is canceled. Hope next time UpDown have more luck, i wish they can deal with their issues now on and they learn with errors. I don`t save any hearth feeling to UpDown, just wish the best for them in the future and do things in a SMARTER WAY.
Monday night i was with CPU, Black & White, Itaytaiko, Indepth, Puzzle, Phanatic, dj Danger and Justin in the Ibis hotel, ppl were worried and looking for more informations. Hopefully we tryed to minimize our low moral and we add a great (possible) time talking.
PS: Thanx to Fred and dj I-Anoo from Ereshikigal (Caribe) for providing an extra sound system were we had the chance to have fun. http://www.facebook.com/quantumleaptrance |

this is what i love about things in this country.
The party was a freakng disaster.
They called it "THE BIGGEST PARTY IN THE WORLD".
The organization has 2 years and never produced a party over 2.000 people.
And invited to this one "more than 100 artists and DJ's" (what a joke).
Some artists were not even invited.
The place had no licences.
Some of the artists were left in the airport.
Ended after 2 days.
The organizers ran off with the money.
and STILL.... there are some people, tapping theirs backs, WTF????
"its also of alot of guys that tried all the time to make bad name for this festival"
á ok, so now the fault is from the people who predicted this from the very start, right????? They are to blame.... sure...
Poor old UPDOWN did their best right??
you sound like a 12 year old......
IS NO ONE RESPONSIBLE FOR NOTHING ??????

What a disaster...but the main guilty was not from the main organizer but a person(if we can call him person) called Agni Spark that was asking the guy 500 a month since february and was in charge of most of organization, also this person convince the main organizer that with a 11 days festival they can kill the rest of the other festivals like Sonica,Freedom...So someone sould also call the mongoloid and ask him where i got his mind

yes i believe an 11 days festival would be a dream come true, but at the same time a bif big risk, for example, people go to Boom festival for 3 days spend 100 euros on the ticket and then noone gets out of there without spending another at least 100 euros in food, drinks, tabacco, spliffs, drugs, suveniers, not to talk about the trip to arrive there. now imagine an 11 days festival it would be proporcionally almost 400 euros just to stay there, plus the ticket and plus the trip to arrive there. i mean either people would not go there for the whole 11 days or few people could afford to spend that amount of money.
now my 2 cents of this hehe.
i think if instead of makin an 11 days festival if they reduced it to half of it, lets say 6 days, with half the bands, and saying this i want people to understand that this is not a direct critic to the artists themselves, or to their real value as persons or as musicians, but the fact is that bands such as 220V, or Slum, or Miracle or Tactical Strike or Brethren or Ecliptic wont bring anyone to a festival, and obviously wouldnīt compensate the money spent on plain tickets not to mention the cache since some of them came for free.
i believe if this festival would have been of half the days with half the bands, the ones that actually make people to go to parties, this whole publicity and expectation about this festival would have had much more impact and reability, in portugal and also outside portugal to all the other potencial foreign commers.
i wish updown crew and other portuguese promoters better luck next time.

I am amazed with all this about the festival..
itīs really hard to read this without say anything, because we have outstanding places, to make a party, we are a minority in portugal(thatīs good) but this minority have a true paixon for trance music and this just donīt help for outhers to see us as a good country to play trance... letīs go to the FREEDOM and show the world that the best festival this summer is in portugal... FREEDOM up your life  |

Its the worst chapter of the Portuguese trance scene, what a shame to Portugal and to the Trance world....where are u organizer...show your face u filthy coward answer the people?
Sooner or latter u have to stop to hide!
I think if some people get together and get a good lawyer we can catch the asshole, at least the shops that payed 500 for nothing should get back the money and the money they invest in food |

We canīt let one organization to be a face of portugal trance scene... we have to move one because we have outher organizations that we are proud of....
for up and down
"donīt make any party here in portugal and if you make a party...be aware that i will go with many friends as possible, first to get money back of my friends and second to f**** your party...be sure i will do that if you make another one and it want be difficult to get people to do this...stupid asshole
