the beatport charts are based on weekly results. this make new releases hit the ground easier (and get lost quiker also). i had a discussion with one owner of bp in the german technoforum.
it seems like they realy do not influence the charts, but this doesnt means that someone does not pushes your release by downloading your track 100 times in one day, which is not the fault of bp. the only influencing thing they do is presenting special releases or banners.
i also think that influencing the charts would destroy the image of bp very fast. and why should they do that? for some extra-cash? they get 700 new releases (!) the week, they have a worldwide audience, it would be senseless to risk that success.
