haha I was wondering when someone was gonna put up a thread about it this year!

It a non-boom-year so the trancemonkey percentage on the playa this year should be pretty good....looking forward to playing and checking out other people's sets. PM me if you have a stage and some openings for freaky full power japanese music, (well not just japanese but ya) I would love to play for you!!

and for the non-planner renegaders, I will be looking out for you!!

C ya freaks back home.....in dust we trust

Hello all!

Please forgive my ignorance but can anyone please tell me when we can get more details regarding the date and/or location of this festival?

Boom ;~O           Try not....do or do not, there is no try.

GreenMoon - Burningman

Green Sector is collaborating with Moontribe to do a camp at Burning Man this year... GREEN MOON.
Visit www.moontribe.org/greenmoon for more details...

This is an open invitation to join our camp! We’re asking for a contribution of $100 to cover the sound, décor, and generator expenses. We'll give you a receipt and keep track of how much money you send. You can contact us at greenmoon@moontribe.orgThis e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it OR do a PayPal donation to greenmoon@moontribe.orgThis e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it (credit cards ARE accepted) OR send a check to:

Christina de la Fuente
545 S. Euclid Ave. #4
Pasadena, CA 91101

If you already have camping plans, but you know you're going to boogie down with us, consider donating a little $$ to help us manifest this vision properly.

We are offering a couple of options:
1. Installments: $50 now and $50 as soon as you can get it together. Just put aside a few dollars a day and you'll have another $50 in no time!

2. Fundraising: Ask people who like the music played at Moontribe/Green Sector/ Rootabreaka/ELM events to donate some $$, even if they aren't camping with us. Pretty much all money is going to the sound, generator, and the stage and those are things that lots of people can enjoy the benefit of. Collect the money and deposit it as your camp contribution!

3. Volunteering: There are a limited number of volunteer spots (no construction -- mostly clean up stuff). We are asking volunteers to pay $50 ASAP and then e-mail greenmoon@moontribe.orgThis e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it to see what volunteer spots we have available.           http://soundcloud.com/djkiva

Yes, this year looks to be one of the best years for psytrance since 2001! Back in the late 90's and early 2000's, psytrance was the main form of electronic music there. The last 5 years have seen a huge decline in proper psytrance representation at the Playa (with the exception of the Sound of Mind and Trancendance camps in 2005). As most people know, breaks is #1 at Burning Man, followed closely by house music. With the West Coast crews from San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco all putting together stages with loads of psytrance, I'm thinking this year is the beginning of a new wave of psytrance dominance at the Burn!

No one has the exact location of their stages yet, but the CCC camp (called Space Elevator) will be going from Tuesday or Wednesday night till Sunday afternoon (not non-stop, we need sleep time too!). Our lineup is pretty much full, but I'm going to see about trading some slots with other camps, if possible. The reason that we're mostly full is because there will be a LOT of international producers coming to Burning Man this year! Lineup will be posted in August, and it promises to be killer! We're looking forward to showing the psytrance festival circuit what the best festival in the world is like! Hopefully, the producers/DJs who come will spread the word and convince more to come next year.

I'm also involved with Opulent Temple, one of (if not the) biggest large-scale sound system camps at Burning Man. We'll be located at one of the corners, either 2:00 or 10:00 and Esplanade, and we'll have the same insane 75,000 watt line-array JBL sound system that we had last year, tuned to perfection. The good news is that we're going to have a lot more psytrance this year! Saturday night is going to be pretty much all psytrance at Opulent (from 1am-9am), with some VERY special international artists headlining. More info to come, but expect to rock it hard at Opulent Temple this year after the Burn.

So far I have confirmed about 8 big name producers/DJs, and semi-confirmed about 6 more who will be coming to Burning Man this year. Woohoo! And no one is getting paid to come, or having their flights paid for them. This is Burning Man, if someone wants to come play, they need to get there themselves, in accordance with the no-money-exchanged policy of Burning Man. But they all know it's worth it and are super excited to come. So yeah, looks like psytrance will be making a serious comeback at Burning Man this year.           Brian Petterson

it's all about the psytrance. I am going to a 3day fest in france end of july (most psytrance with some minimal and electro), but it sure would be nice to do the burn again after a 6 year hiatus. peace

funny that a damon would reply to a damon post.

There was some at Opulent Temple last year, provided at sunrise on Sunday morning by yours truly and my longtime friend Atum. It was a really epic 3.5 hour tagteam set that drove the dancers (and our tired campmates) crazy!

Also, I should have mentioned in my other post, but the lineup for Opulet Temple is (a) out of my hands, and (b) completely full. The lineup for Space Elevator camp is also full, but I'm hoping to free up some space for DJ trades with the other psy camps, and possibly for some people traveling from outside the West Coast. There isn't room for anyone else, I'm afraid. Wish we could have everyone play, but you know how it is.

Ideally sound camps and folks interested in psy trance will register with Playa Info and include the words "psy or trance" in their profile information.

If you register at Playa Info and include those words then others can easily find your camp.

I'm an avid fan of trance and help organize events. As soon as I get to the playa I'll be seeking out camps and people and a stop by Playa Info is first on my to-do list.
