been done before... BM used to be inundated with psytrance until about 2003. The BMORG was not really into psytrance after that, for various reasons, and the placement of the psy camps in recent years (this year as well) - one at 2 and outer edges, the other at 10, separating the crowd - is a testament to that. Not a whole lot you can do when your big camp is so far away, nobody is willing to make the trek. I think it'll take a lot of work to convince them that psytrance can make a successful comeback - hopefully this year's Opulent Temple gig will help.

Which is NOT something I saw in Seattle lately.
It seems to me that Simon Posford is traveling alone across the US. And it looks like he's playing Shpongle tracks as a dj. Probably mixing with some live electronic stuff. And certainly playing Hallucinogen live (again, looks like from the set of equipment I've seen at the stage). Whereas Shpongle is supposed to be a collaboration with Raja Ram, and certainly some acoustic instruments.
Maybe they will invite other musicians for the performance.
However - Burning Man is not supposed to be a large psy-trance event, so I actually doubt it.

awesome! Some good friends of mine do the sound for opulent. Glad to hear there is some psy going on at a ripe time as well. Their linups looked like it was booked completely when i was checking in July.
Also I'd love to find a place to throw down again this year. I've been producing with Init String for the last 10 years and djing as well so if there are any camps interested let me know Id love to play.
I'm camping with Outpost 23 so I'll definitely be playing there, but I'm looking to rock out as much as possible!!
If all I do at BM is play psy trance and visit friends I already know, and operate at the roller derby bout, I'll be a very very happy gal.

anybody have a cheap or a trade ticket value for BM?
i would loved to go is just a matter of finding a cheap ticket to go!

It will happen....and possibly cross paths. Of course you can get lost at Black Rock City, never to be seen again sucked into some den of desire/despair vortex. Me's thinking at lot of trancers will be hanging at the Opulent Temple during "psytrance night/day". Hey you can't pass up a 75KW system!!!!

Heya Burners...will be my first time at the Burn and really looking forward to it...going to be one hell of a ride...Im looking forward to meeting some crazy people in the desert...anyone know of the other lineups for psy at the festival? Would be good to know what's out there in advance.
