Considering that there's a big banner on that very site that says aug 26-sept2nd 2013....

and considering they've already sold a bunch of tickets for 2013....

yeah its still on.

There is ALWAYS a rumor of 'that was the last BM" and it has, sofar at least, always been false            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

I was asking because the guy who was the "organizer" stated he no longer wanted to do it...so i was thinking that maybe someone else is doing it.

People want everything for free, LOL

They even have a low income ticket sale program...           "The dedication to repetition — the search for nirvana in a single held tone or an endlessly cycling rhythm — is one of electronic music's noblest gestures."

If you have a low enough income that you need to apply for low income tickets, you shouldn't be going to BM in the first place.

so are the next tickets available only in August? Could I buy tickets now if I wanted?

Why shouldnt you go if you don't have much money? People without a lot of money can't go party?

The cheap tickets usually sell out without a day. I wouldnt be surprised if it was totally sold out already.           soundcloud.com/supergroover

Burning man... I have had an interesting experience regarding BM...

An acquaintance of mine was putting on the burning man Hawaii camp and I was asked by quite a few people if I could play a dj set there (back in the day when I was still djing). So I said sure, just pay me my way there and my expenses and I will come and play. Thinking that was generous... since I did not ask for a fee. I was then told that in order to play at BM I had to purchase a ticket for some 250 bucks, make my way there on my own and be happy that I was allowed to play at BM.
I said no.

Later in the week one of the ten or twelve top organizers came to my house where said acquaintance was sub-letting a room from me on a temporary basis, they had a meeting and then asked me why I could not come and play, the top organizer also asked and added the auspcious sentence that I keep hearing when asked for gigs in the USA or elsewhere on the north american continent... "Why don't you just do it for the scene?"... I then said:

Me: How much is a ticket?

She: $250.-

Me: how many people were there last year?

She: roughly 50.000

Me: ok how much is 250*50.000?

She: we made roughly 12.5 Million

Me: so how come with so much money you are not even considering to pay an artist who is requested to come and play there by more than one of the BM camp organizers? After I already have to pay for my music, my gear and so on? Why can't YOU just do it for the scene and pay my expenses???

She: Ooh, all the money we make gets used to pay off police and the authorities...

Me: you mean you pay 12.5 million to the authorities and have not published this anywhere in order to avoid paying bribes in the future? Are you bullshitting me or something?

She: No, we make no money from BM whatsoever...

Me: ok, but 12.5 million where does that money go? It's certainly a lot???

She: Really, when BM is done we have 0 money left for us...

Me: After bullshitting me twice you expect me to come to BM and play, and bullshit me another time in my own house by telling me I have topay for my fare, but by having me purchase a full price ticket, and to "just do it for the scene"? As far as I am concerned you can take your BM and shove it up your ass.

She: Well I am sorry you think this way, maybe you ought to look at your own greed...

Me: It is hardly called greed when I spend hundreds every month to have the newest music that people want to hear when they book me, and I hardly make enough $ to live here, considering that I really don't have any money to go to BM, pay for a full ticket and my expenses when people request me to play there, so what do you mean by me being greedy? Especially since you make 12.5 million and travel around the country on BM expenses to go to meetings and chit chat with camp organizers about stuff that could easily be dealt with via email...

She: Your money situation is none of my business...

Me: I quite frankly think you ought to leave my house for repeatedly trying to bullshit me...

She left...

So since then BM is a no go for me...

Well.. its the cops that are lame. Not the Burning Man festival.
Many psychedelic trance festival organisers can learn from the Burning Man. It is in many directions alot more psychedelic and mindbending than alot of psychedelic festivals.           soundcloud.com/supergroover
