Yeah, there seemed to be more breaks at Burning Man than trance this year. breaks are huge here in the US. some excellent breaks djs out there. still i find nu-breaks kinda boring, in comparison with psytrance. not nearly as deep and complex, or psychedelic. but that's just me.
some excellent trance with breakbeat is Kiwa 'Dreamtime Enhancer' - love that album. Oh yeah, and Amon Tobin is great, mU-ziq, squarepusher, q-burns abstract message, some of the hardkiss brothers, etc. etc. I love that stuff in the OTHER room at the party. Not instead of trance. |

hey yall, i'm givin this a bump, cause i just saw Tipper last weekend at Phoenix festival (nw usa).
his set was one of the most amazing musical experiences i've ever heard.
i said this b4 to my friends: i think Tipper is as talented as Simon P. if you are a psygeek (and i am), Tipper is the BEST introduction to breaks.
at the party, Loopus in Fabula was gettin down to Tipper's set, and when i talked to him after, i think all he said was something like: that was f***ing amazing!
and the best thing is, i get to see Tipper again next week
gotta have the wiggy AND the wonky |

there are some tunez from d´n´b / jungle producers that are pretty close to psychedelic aesthetic.
i´ve also been looking a lot for psychedelic breakbeatz and unfortunately i must recognize that there has a lot to be done. in the mid nineties/ end nineties there were some tip releases (it was called "snake thing"), some extraordinary tracks of my dude leigh griffiths (ECT) and some tunez of OZ bands/ projects but in the last few years... allmost nothing.
i´ll try to change this. i´m allready working on a tune. i hope it will be great, but i cannot say it now. it´s allways very difficult to me to write a track... |
