Yossi they will also mix well if you get their papers but its easier for them to mix if they have them and for sure they will mix better.

When i am talking about dj's i am talking about people that actually are getting payed for their mixing skills to play in parties and festivals.I say that because everybody in the trance world thinks that he is a dj.Just take a look around you in this forum and see how many people use the term dj in front of their nick and you will understand what i am implying.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

first of all, most of the djs/artists get payed for the name, not mixing skills.

and 2nd, "everybody" is a dj Bcoz most ppl think that if they have a BPM list infront of them, then they can mix.

simple as that.

First of all in order to create a good name you MUST be a good dj and producer.

Secondly everybody thinks that is a dj not because of a BPM list but because of his unreleased stuff list.

Now thats simple my friend yossi.           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!

first of all, its not a must to be a good dj/producer to create yourself a good name, most of it is luck and good connections.
i saw many unknown djs that play in the biggest party organizers parties.
and i also saw artists (i wont list the names) that create wicked music and mix like shit, and they do get payed realy well.

and 2nd... well yeah, also the unrealesed shit
but thats another thread

Yossi it's like this man: A Good Good Dj must be able to make synchronize the beat's of two or more musics without using any papers, they hear the music and they do tha mixing... I know a few like that:) If u let the music beat end and than put the other one, that's nothing, anyone can do that!

But it's not just putting the beat's synchronized... it's more & more! But all of u know, or should know what makes the difference between a bad and a good DJ peace yossi           http://minimaland.blogspot.com

i have to say some things too

1. you dont need the bpm numbers to have a good flow , when you know how to mix right ...(see what yossi and lauryn said)
2. you dont need to have good mixing skills to be a famous dj (saw and heard it often enough)
3. creating music has nothing to do with djing IMO : for example : the worst Dj can be the best producer ...

ok just my view of things ...

basicly... both of ya r saying the same things that i am...

peace bozzzzz

plus Detox my dear beloved friend ...
i can say that i have a preaty rich experience in parties, and to tell ya the truth, all the djs that i consider as good once, i never saw them checking on the "BPM list"... (if they have one, wich i dont believe they do...)

I think that writing the bpm next to the traxx can be very helpful when u play a set...I do it myself...this way I can look fo traxx that are not so different in their tempo faster...this also makes sure that I never play 2 traxx that one is 138 and the other is 145...some dj's play with the tempo and stratch the traxx way too much...till it sounds horrible...in any way, I do the final touch by ear of course...so pls guys, there is not enough room in this forum for all our egos...

Mixing using bpm's then becomes a case of (relatively) simple mathematics yeah? Just like doing equations at high school. Where is the fun in that? Bpms help, but a good dj shouldnt need them.

The guys who don't know how to use it normally say that! ... it's like this.. A Dj should (not must!) know how to make a mixing with two beats at the same time, and to do that they will have to synchronize the bpm's... or is there other way of doing that?

There r other way's of mixing... but a Dj must have variety... a GOOD Dj should know severel ways of mixing and than show to the ppl how it's done on their setS!

Am i wrong?:P eheheheh

As far as I know beat mix is the only way to do it when playing a psy trance set...playing traxx one after the other ends is not my idea of mixing...
