Sorry Janux, but you'll have to wait until 2006. Boom only happens every two years.

From the latest Boom newsletter:

Rumours! We love them and sometimes they are very funny

For everyones information the Boom festival happens every two years and always in Portugal. The next Boom will be on around the Full Moon of August 2006. Dates and all other information will be anounced in a few months at the official Boom festival website - www.boomfestival.org

So, I guess the rumours about no more booms / next boom elsewhere were wrong...           Please REMOVE my cellphone number from any SMS spam list you may have. Thanks.

i enjoyed the Boomfestival very much, but I have to agree to alot of People, that the Sound System was horrible (last time was better). The first day was the worst. On the second day, I think they haved balanced it better. My opinion is Ok it looks nice to have a circle dancefloor. But when you dance you are most time looking to the DJ place. Then the sound comes from behind, it so the music sound different as you have the P.A. in front of you. Also you have to decide if you want to hear the music with bad sounding delays or you go really near to on Soundsystem and then you only can hear mono. I think it better to have DelayLines (more PA in one line). Maybee it will be better the next time. I will be there

Hello all at Isratrance, my 1st post here

A number of us travelled from South Africa and thought Boom was fantastic.

About the Boom money, my only comment was when some people didnt have Boom money and offered to pay in Euros, it encouraged staff to pocket the cash (I saw this happen at the chill bar)

That sound was a tricky setup, you just had to find the sweet spots. Putting delays in wouldn't have helped imho because it was a circular configuration, I really don't know how one could have cut out the clash of the beats as one traversed the perimeter.

I hope the Boom organisers made it worth their while, so they will do it again.

Please take a look at my pics:

Cheers!

Hiya dudes,
Finally decided to write down my opinion about the festival....here it goes .
The location of the festival was magnificant, you had the sun rising from the opposite side of the dj so every morning the sun would come up and light the font place of the festival . We managed to camp down in a quite decent area nearby the main stage which had a view of EVERYTHING (except the chillout tent....oh well, can' have everything).
Though the whole main stage decor was great i feel that they could have done a bit more work with the chillout area. It was too small, and the way that they set it up allowed the sun to just go through great massive gaps in the 'roof' and gradually roast the whole lot of us .
I must agree on the food and money issue which i found pathetic....not being able to exchange the rate.....expensive food....expensive fleamarket as well(shouldn't be called fleamarket..should be called shopping centre or somethin).
Personally i thought the music was excellent but it definately needed to be LOUDER and CLEARER(...i thought i was goin to damage my ears from trying to stretch them so much in order to listen....a wee bit of exaduration). But hnestly speaking, The two thumping beat was doing my head in ...in position A you heard the sound one way....in position B you heard the sound another way.
The sets were excellent (with a few exceptions) but i particularly enjoyed the last day from the moment Space Tribe came on and especially when Azax decided to kick in with all his killer tunes ....followed by another killer set later on by Menog ...
Overall i have to say that i had a killer time and that it was worth every last penny and i would consider going again in 2006 (prefer to go to something new).
Later amigos

i think that the delays of the sound are made on propose because this is a big festival and they need to gather the people in the dancefloor so if u want to ear the sound good u must go near the center of the dancefloor , there is the place to be if u want to really ear it good!!!
This is made also becasue of the power of the sound system, the music can be heard from everywhere so if there wheren´t delays the people will not gather so much in the dancefloor (disperse) and will not create the needed vibe for this kind of party!!!
This is my humble opinion about the delays in the sound! Ah! and i want to add that the speakers where amazing!!! so small and so powerfull!!!!

ahhmmmm.... no.
the ammount of ppl in the center of the dome is limited and hardly ever was the center of the dance floor empty, so they didnt need to "bring" the ppl there.
Also, in the center the sound was worse because it clashed with the DJs' monitors....

But what are we complaining? we got two for the price of one every kick and bass was delivered to us twice

Just noticed that i didn't write anything in this thread.
Well i was there, i don't remember much good musical moments. For me it was quite impossible to enjoy the music in most cases both because of the bad sound setup and also because the line up wasn't mostly my cup of tea. I found myself mostly in the chill area and just chilling with the people.
Bottom line it was quite a disapointer and i don't think i'll be in the next Boom should it occur.
But i had killer time with the ppl that came there. If it counts.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me
