Somewhere between progressive trance and full on … Somewhere in between a formula and freestyle… Somewhere between Science and God… Somewhere in the middle… you may be able to find BLT and Danni Makov land, hidden and secure of the troubles of the outside world. It has been a while since I heard any music coming from Yuli Fershtat, he keeps his music well protected and I have been waiting for a long time to hear something being released.
Saying that, let's jump into the story here:

1.Mind the Gap – The album begins is with a test run of all the systems and instruments that will be used in the track… percussion is tested and synths are pressed, a guitar stretches its chords and here we go inside. The beat here reminds of Juno Reactor's – Conga Fury a bit, much softer but the tribal elements and patterns… some cool sports crowd effects that creep quickly from the back, the jam on the synths is amusing and then the track takes a total tunnel run into something unexpected… a much more serious part of the track is introduced here. Middle Eastern female vocals take the tribal elements into Arabian ones. There is a nice buildup and total Eastern feeling to it now. All throughout you can hear Danni Makov's jamming almost free styling on the drums, all done in perfect harmony with the structure.

2.The Calling (Live Edit) – starts from the collapse of the previous track, totally different kick then the previous track, this is giving so much atmosphere… South American carnival drums banging with a big reverb, before you know it you are 3:22 into the track and it officially begins with a much heavier atmosphere and some serious cymbal hi hat shredding in the back. Large Scando sounds and high hollow optimistic pads. Drumming is excellent (will be on every track) and totally carries you to the break. Open resonance sounds oozing in stereo into your mind… live drumming is excellent here… so precise. Scandinavia can learn a bit from this track, this is massive.

3.Anything U Want – gets from basic to complex and shows you how intricate it can get… very funky track, dancing bassline rolling and pads that make me smile and expect the next level. The element of vocals is introduced here, I think this is a trend we will see much more in the near future, I already see it with a few artists… involving vocals as part of the track in an actual singing way. The breakdown is like something out of a rock 'n' roll video with guitars and girls distorted heavy metal electronic a style. What a finish though on this one… total blend of everything… you can find anything u want in this track.

4.The Rain Song - Takes another twist into the realms of heavier progressive sounds. The atmosphere again is very dark… great track for a progressive set. I feel like a parrot saying this, but again, the percussion work is superb and complex. Cosmatic feeling to this one until about 2:42 where it's BLT crazed loon land. I love this rolling bassline, makes me bop my head effortlessly. The story takes twists and turns and I really get a feeling of travel in the journey the track is taking me. Here comes the rain… and another turn in this forest… little spirits and elves surrounding, navigating through them and moving forward.

5.Graceful Dead – Picks up exactly where "The Rain Song" drops you off. Atmos like intro, synths and methods… before you notice Atmos is gone and BLT has taken over, the mood is totally hypnotic; there is so much s p a c e in this track, total mind programming tool. Leaves you ready for any suggestive instructions, so watch out.

6.Patters Of… - I like this track very much. The sample is so amusing in the intro, that girl cant possibly know that math so easily, silly girl. I'm hearing a sound that reminds me very much of Domestic's – Simulated track at the breakdown part. A Cosma like intro with a simple bass kick combo that usually foretells a future of structure and build. Additions, subtractions closer sounds, farther ones… great arrangement of harmony here, everything works with everything here… harmony of natural mathematics. There are patterns! This track is 13:31 and my favorite part start around 7:49… I won't tell you what happens but let's just say I wouldn’t want to pay that bill.

7.Space Boogie (Missionary Mix) - Was written by Yuli and Nadi Nahimoff and remixed by BLT. It has that housey feeling to it and still keeps its interesting psy elements. Samples from very funky vocals and total sawing synth that is so pleasant to hear… makes me boogie, again reminds me of Cosma – Human Evolution a bit at parts. Total organ chaos funkdelica and samples synchronization. Great explosion at the end, rock concert style!

8.Epitaph – Is touching the direction I was referring to before with vocal trance. Not complete chorus's main verses, but hinting to that. All this while keeping a trancey feel to it and not going to cheesy. Super melodic style and riffs here, ending the albums with a smile and funk and a deep groove. This track is wonderful as a closer.

Overall this album is truly special, something to take into consideration in a growing sea of mediocre trance. It's obvious that Yuli and Danni are musicians and master sound engineers. They are not lacking either talent and aren’t afraid to test the limits of their capabilities. This is a complete album. A voyage into trance from start to finish, no breaks, no cuts, just experienced tour guides leading you into the realms of their habitat. I was taken by it at first listening; I was captivated by it soon after .A skillful display of talent by two real artists, no doubt about it.

10/10

A great album, although i think some of the tracks lack the standart of the rest of the album... 8,5/10. But as you said very original, somewhat refreshing compared to most releases.

BLT & DANNY MAKOV - anything you want...
To be honest I never really knew BLT's music till this one arrived (couple of joint tracks, rmx's etc...), and aside from BLT's excellent reputation in skillful production skills and sound knowledge (already releasing 3 featured albums, numerous releases remix's and 12"), and of course his great personality, all prior recollection was as virgin as a virgin can be.
BLT & DANNY MAKOV (more information can be found below - new release information), after been working and active with this project for over 2 years have now unlished their debut duo album which can be best described as immense, impressive, flowing and ASS kicking, diverse, rewarding and above all interesting.
The percussive work on this album and its powerful drive, add an unpolished signature and a good portion of funkiness & grooviness to each track regardless with his direction and feel, which varies from one track to the other.
This duo each working a different angle, split the work perfectly resulting seemingly perfect, bound as one tightly, creating magic which sweeps you off to higher energized hypnotic galaxies, blending in skillfully different atmospheres and historical values.
Intense power that just hugs & embraces one's self.
I would pay attention for a future DVD, the duo live act is not a thing to be missed as well.
if you don't own an original copy by now, I can only feel bad for you and of course urge you do get one while it lasts.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Official release information:
BLT is Yuli Fershtat, a musician and a graduate in Chinese Medicine and Herbal Therapy. In Yuli's resume there are 3 full length artist albums and quite a few single tracks released on numerous compilations and EP's in Israel and around the world in the last few years. Yuli DJ's on a weekly basis in most of the Israeli trance outfits and in the last years also performs successfully abroad ( Japan, Germany, UK, Brazil, India, Portugal and more ).
Danni Makov, former drummer of a legendary Israeli rock band, spent years in England as a drummer for a band named 'T C Hug' that almost 'did it' with a major label. Since he came back to Israel he recorded couple of Platinum albums with Israeli rock tycoon Berry Sacharof and one more Gold album with another leader of Israeli Rock - Arkadyi Duchin and more. Danni also is the drummer for the leading Israeli Ballet group ' Anna Phaza ' and performs with the group all over the world.
Since 2 years ago, Yuli and Danni collaborating either in the studio and in live performances. Their live act is something not to be missed since it combines huge sound production of danceable mystical trance of BLT and the straight raw virtuoso drummer energy that comes right in yer face. BLT and Danni Makov perform with a lot of success in Israel and outside ( lately performed in Germany, Brazil and Bulgaria )
Yuli is also succesfully remixing tracks for other bands. Till now there were remixes for the Swedish duo Ticon ( ‘We Are The Mammoth Hunters’ ) and the Israeli duo Psycraft ( ‘Bizarre’ ) released. By now there are few more ready and in ‘the oven’ for leading trance groups – Antix, Psycraft, Phony Orphants, Shulman and Paste. See you at the dance floor!!

This is amazing CD, i have absolutely no words to describe the emotions those tunes evoke in me.
All the tunes are great, especially The Rain Song and Graceful Dead, which bring the special Cosma vibe alive for one more time.
BTW, Graceful Dead is dedicated to Avichen and i figured out that the name has more meaning than the obvious.
Graceful = Grace = Chen (in Hebrew)
Dead = Dad = Av, My Dad = Avi
Avi + Chen = Avichen
Anyways. Regardless the word games, this album is a must. Best Israeli release this year so far together with the monstrous Sub6 Debut.
9.9/10           Everyone in the world is doing something without me
