Yeah ZeRo, that is perfectly right, that´s one of the great things about trance music and parties, that as long as you are friendly and come to enjoy and dance, everybody is welcome.

That was never the question for me anyway. For me the topic is not about whether there should be more or less black people on parties, but why there is only a very small percentage in the scene, that are black.

In 11years of tranceing, I only heared one black DJ. He was from Frankfurt and very super good. He played an afterparty for us and I gave him a crystal ball. Greetings to you! Hope you still make people dance like crazy.

I can't beleive this thread is still alive... I think it's kinda funny to be perfectly honest. Over the years especially in the US people in general have been striving to be politically correct. Mainly based upon fear. Some people find it difficult to distinguish light hearted humor that mutually respected and accepted from malicious comments. One of the things that drew me to the scene was the fact that it was a social group that was unconditionally accepting. (unless you didn't like psytrance)

I cannot speak for others of my ethnic background, but personally Racial jokes don't bother me in the least. Hell, I tell more black jokes than most of my friends that tell any other racial joke. True there are still remnants of past and present transgressions when it comes to stereotyping or making general assumptions, but half of the reason the acid culture exists is to blur all those color lines anyway.

There will be people that will take offense to any racial comments, whether made in jest or not. It is up to them to determine if they want to be offended by something like that. From a personal perspective, if I can't laugh at the joke, I can laugh at the person who told it. I have encountered biggotry and other elements of racial prejudice in the world, but NEVER at a psytrance event. I used to think that it would be nice to see other brotha's and sista's at more parties, but then I realized that all the people there WERE my brotha's and sista's.

People have different grooves, and as much as psytrance attempts to accomdate everyone, some people like other music more. Psytrance can seem like one of those "member's only" clubs and can intimidate an individual if they have no familiarity with the people that are going or the music. And it's not like there's a big procession of trancers marching down the street every weekend screaming, "The Psytrance Party is this way!!!! Follow US"

What makes something underground is the fact that you really have to know what you are looking for to find it. If you don't know about it and aren't shown, how do you expect to find it?

I propose that all of you take a friend that has never listened to psytrance to a party. (whether they are black, white, green, poor, rich, halfway dead, etc..)
If you can afford to, pay for them. That way if they don't like their experience, they will never say that they wasted their money. If you show it to them, chances are they might just like it. I think I will call this the "Infect Someone You Love" project.... Lemme know if this works for y'all

And peace to all. No need for people to get aggrivated over someone's sense of humor. If you feel offended, ignore that individual. It's easier to disregard the comment than to demand an apology from the individual.
